Why not?

He can actually play. He gets buckets. He rebounds OK. His defense, at least by DBPM, is actually better than many wings/forwards on the Jazz. The only huge negative I can find in his game is that he doesnt take 3's at the rate that is generally desired.

I'm guessing he must be insufferable because that's really the only explanation why a guy with his skills and size hasnt found a consistent bench role yet.

Also, we now have two ex-BYU Mormons in charge of everything now. How can this not happen?

He actually fit's Rudy Gay's role of small ball five pretty well, with much less defense of course

Paschall is probably on a better development path. I don't see Parker playing over him.

I'm just not sure Parker would be able to buy in to the type of player he needs to be. I'm not super sold on Paschall... I like him, but I think there is a chance a guy like Danuel House is a better fit for what we need.

The thing is that I dont know how much of Parker's reputation is still legit. Small sample size, he posted a positive DBPM this year (12 games) with the Celtics.

I personally think Paschall is pretty garbage and Utah is trying to force him into a role he's terrible at. He can't rebound worth a damn for a guy his size (Parker does). He can't score at all. He shoots a ton of 3's but he cant make any. His defense isnt any good, he just has the appearance of hustling.

One guy I would also look at is Chris Boucher, who generally goes off when given the minutes.

This one is from a week ago. Nick Nurse hates him for some reason and with the inconsistent role he's getting in Toronto, I don't see him resigning with them.

Did Boston waive him? We know Ainge likes him. I remember Ainge not wanting him to go on a mission so that he could draft him or something like that. A little late now but I would have definitely brought him in for tonight’s game. In theory he’s a good bench depth piece to pull out when needed like the Clippers had. I wouldn’t bring him in for a real role.

According to my timeline on twitter the past couple of days, Paschall is our missing piece. No need to make a trade or sign anyone else because he is our savior. I've never seen anything like the way Jazz fans love the end of bench guys, Paschall, Mudiay, Brantley, etc.

I am not super sold on Paschall either. It's just that he is more willing to fit in a role created for him and improve in that direction. He is also better fit as 4-5 hybrid defensively, I think.

Danuel House is def better fit and wholly different kind of player.

Huge fan of Boucher. Normally when he gets minutes he produces very well.

He's shooting 25% from 3pt this season. He wouldn't get on the floor.
