Trade deadline discussion

Well if we’re gonna have that *******, then he should’ve been on the phones with Sacramento and NO.

I just wanna again go on record (again) that I hate Danny Ainge. It seems like Ryan brought him in for the specific reason of telling him how to run the franchise and I’m pretty ****ing worried about it.
Btw, anyone else remember that Boston never turned its hoard of draft picks into anything on the trade market, and - from Ainge himself and rumors elsewhere - it’s because teams wanted more from the Celtics relative to other teams?

Huh... you think they get into it for the tax breaks. The money stuff is nice but this **** is about ego for a lot of these dudes. The fanbase calling Vivek a clown and hating him has an impact. I know some folks who are very rich... they do a lot of ego ****... they care very much what others think.

If he wants to throw himself a parade that is fine... but a parade without the adoration of others is just a bunch of ****ing weirdos walking down the middle of the street while the sidewalks stay vacant.

Vivek does not want the ego hit of being the nba franchise with the longest playoff drought. He wants to push for the play in game... this wasn't about stockpiling assets... this was about not being patient and giving away an actual player that was good (I know they got another player back). These guys built businesses throughout the years. They understand patience and timing. This is about not being labeled a loser.

Well, you do get a ton of tax breaks for owning an NBA team lol.

You are absolutely right that owners do it for ego. If winning 40 games and/or making the playoffs strokes his ego, well it doesn't matter what you or anyone else thinks. People need to understand the reality that their goals, especially when they have no stake, are not aligned with everyone else's. Not every owner is enthusiastic about waiting several years for things to develop. Vivek wanted to play 4 on 5 defense and stole that idea from his daughter's basketball team. He is not the same as someone who knows a handful of guards from the Euroleague who might fit into an NBA rotation.

I'm not saying this was a good move...just that 40 or 45 wins can mean something very different to different people and franchises.

The Kings will always be the kings. Two weeks ago Hali said this.

“I refuse to let the culture of what the Kings have been in the past take over … I'm gonna help fix this.”

Two weeks later….. kings ship him out. I found this hilarious.
That is a component to this deal people don't get at all. Day 1 he's wanted to change things here... he's wanted to be part of the solution rather than bitching about they need to get me some help.

I'm sure Sabonis will be just as committed to the cause... lol they had a potential culture changer.

Keep Fox... let him play his way out of his funk... or trade him for Randle... Knicks would do it in a second. He has the ability to increase his value over the rest of the season. I'd have MUCH rather built around Tyrese and Davion and see what was out there for Fox. Hield you can find a taker... if not just play him as the bench guard... he's fine.

lots of things get you tax breaks... :)

It does matter though... he thinks he is going to get the losing stink off of him. But when you go to your parade and no one shows up it hurts. So the fans matter. When you show up in the Ferrari and no one gives a **** and thinks your pecker is tiny it bugs them.

He thinks this will be better than it is... that's all I'm saying. If Fox plays well it may help it smooth out some rough spots. But if Fox played well with Haliburton they'd be in the same spot.

He's a moron... he needs to sell the team... I really hope Ryan sees Vivek and does the opposite of what he's done.

Lakers are pivoting to Millsap and Terrence Ross, so it appears that they're out of the Josh Richardson sweepstakes, assuming Richardson is still available.

Portland is reportedly showing interest in Jerami Grant.

Haliburton "we gonna fix this"

Vivek "hold my beer"

I found this to be humorous:

"Executives have called coach turned decision-maker Brad Stevens “fair” in trade discussions, compared to Danny Ainge’s approach of trying to get your best player for literally nothing. That has streamlined conversations, leading many to believe Stevens wants to subtly add to the core as opposed to tearing it down."

Yeah, but we still have Justin Zanik and Dave Morway to be the good cops.

Once Boston moves Schroeder they likely keep Richardson. Curious what it takes to get Donte... I want him just so @infection can have some joy in his life.

Seems the Celtics wouldn't be interested in Joe's expiring contract.

Wonder if that means anything for other Wizards.

Means they tanking the eff outta this B.

Beal signs his big deal with Washington... everyone gets all excited... he requests a trade 6 months later. He gets more from the Wiz than anyone else... so that is part of the driving force behind him wanting to stay.

Looking at that roster, KCP is really the only name that pops out.
They likely don't pick up his option next year... so that is actually a good name to watch now.
