The Biden Administration and All Things Politics

For some people, their economic beliefs are as immune to reason as their religious beliefs.
The fact that most other countries are experiencing inflation should dispel the notion that Democrats are responsible for it. Had trump won, he too would be experiencing inflation given the supply chain issues, spending, and trade war with China. The fact that Russia has a higher inflation rate despite not exactly having a robust social safety net should tell us something. Or that Canada is seeing 30 year highs despite suffering nearly as much sickness as us. Or that South Korean is also seeing comparatively high inflation rates should tell us that it’s not a domestic political party problem here. It’s just what happens during global pandemics.

But I guess these things are useful to bludgeon political opponents. If your religion or life is a political sport, then I guess we live in great times.

For some people, their economic beliefs are as immune to reason as their religious beliefs.
And for many their political beliefs are akin to their religious beliefs.

So no one commented on the State Of The Union.
I thought this should have been touched on: https://www.yahoo.com/news/dnc-chair-says-reps-majorie-164214679.html

Boebert and Greene heckled Biden at various points during his first State of the Union address. They also turned their backs and refused to applaud as Biden entered the chamber. The two congresswomen tried to start a "build the wall" chant as Biden spoke about immigration reform

Boebert heckled Biden as he was discussing the health effects of toxic burn pits on US service members and veterans, including the role burn pits may have played in his son Beau's death at 46 from brain cancer.

"When they came home, many of the world's fittest and best-trained warriors were never the same. Headaches. Numbness. Dizziness. A cancer that would put them in a flag-draped coffin. I know," Biden said.

Boebert then shouted, "You put them in, 13 of them." (I actually blame the bomber for those deaths but whatever)

Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, a leading House Democrat, told Insider after the speech that Boebert's outburst was "disgraceful."

"I don't know that I belong to the same human race as someone who thinks it makes sense to yell at someone when they're talking about their dead son," he said.

And my favorite part: "After Joe Wilson's 'You Lie' embarrassment a few years ago you would have thought the GOP would have potty trained their unruly toddlers but I guess after last night's disrespectful antics some of the toddlers have become juvenile delinquents," Harrison tweeted.

The two far-right congresswomen, both elected in 2020, are known for making inflammatory statements and derisive comments and getting into confrontations with their colleagues in the Capitol.

Greene, who last year was removed from her committee assignments and was recently permanently suspended from Twitter, is under scrutiny for speaking on Friday at a white-nationalist conference headlined by Nick Fuentes, whom the Anti-Defamation League has described as a "well-known white supremacist pundit and organizer."

It just never ends with the poor behavior of these trump styled politicians.

This is 100 percent on the voters in Colorado and Georgia. They elected trailer trash bomb throwers to merely make farting noises into some of the most important positions in the world. Being a member of the House of Representatives should be an honor and a privilege. It should require dignity, maturity, and virtue. These are characteristics that those two very much lack.

Voters need to elect people who actually have brains and manners. People who want to build something. We really need to stop electing Biffs and then bitch when government doesn’t work.

And you’re right. This behavior will never change. The public needs to stop giving morons power.

Ironic that when Biden said all Americans deserve access to mental health care, both Boebert and Greene tweeted that that care should start with Biden. Wrong, ladies, you are the elected officials presently most in need of therapy and help for your mental health….

The worst part about the poor behavior is that it distracts from things that actually matter. Here is an infographic from a few days ago on MSNBC showing the mood of the country in how they perceive the current state of the economy. It shows polls out of USA Today and the Washington Post.

Boebert shouting at Biden during the SOTU has no impact on your life. The economy does have an impact. Inflation has an impact. Rising crime rates have an impact. These idiots crave the spotlight so much that they'd pull it away from impactful issues that would help them in the next election. Romney was right when he said "I've got morons on my team".

LOL wow.

I'm sure all the poor forgotten people in their districts who bitch nonstop about being left behind will show them the door in 2022 and elect more constructive members to represent them... /s

That's the quandary I think we find ourselves in. Some (not all) of the anger we see IS due to people being left behind. Not having a national health care system is a no brainer to me. People are being left behind just because they're uninsured or have insurance and are still left with ridiculous medical bills. But... Rather than elect leaders who have vision to lift others up, the morons in these districts elect people who want to bring others down.

While I think many voters in those two districts could benefit from better economic and health care policy, I'm left wanting to flip them the bird because they're electing idiots whose only goals are to make farting noises in the back of the classroom. Utah isn't that dissimilar. Can anyone here actually point to anything Mike Lee has done for them? He's been in office since... What? 2008? 2010? He's more well known for his antics, like shutting down the government with Ted Cruz or calling Trump "Capt Moroni." If you're better known for your antics rather than ideas, that's bad. Voters need to vote better.

Along the lines of republicans behaving badly....
Here is a former fox news producer in trouble for helping russia https://www.yahoo.com/news/former-fox-news-producer-sean-210134835.html

Here is a texas republican who was running for the House who quit because he had an affair with a former ISIS war bride lol. https://www.yahoo.com/news/texas-republican-quits-u-house-224026790.html

Core Inflation that excludes food and energy is up 6.4% over the past 12 months. Biden and the democrats did this. These number are over the past 12 months, not the 12 days of Russia's invasion. The Federal Reserve is now taking the same steps taken by Paul Volker in 1979. Those measures, which the Fed is instituting starting now, in March, took just short of 3 years to get the economy under control last time. This is going to get worse. I hope you all own houses and if you have mortgages I hope you've locked in fixed interest rates. Also, as I've stated before, the American economy will be in recession before the end of the year.

Would just add that anyone that has an adjustable rate mortgage still in this day and age apparently doesn’t remember 2008.
