Who's "he"?

I mean you gotta kill several thousand chickens because of some flu outbreak, I don't know man. Burn 'em. What's the problem? I must be missing something.
The former owner glen taylor. I would think there is a more humane way than burning them alive but not sure. Slaughterhouses ain’t like some animal spa so I see your point too… it’s a weird thing to protest… but some people love them some chickens I guess.

Um hello, how about lethal injection? We dont burn our convicted murderers.

Burning them alive!?
Did anyone at least get to eat them?

They had flu so may not have been the smartest thing. May not have been able to run through the normal killing floor either without risk of pathogens… basically if it saves a penny a head they will do the cheaper method 99% of the time.

My understanding is that it was 5 million birds and it was USDA sanctioned.

Peace and overwhelming Prosperity has led to a bored American populace. We bitch about being oppressed over any minor inconvenience. Combine that with social media and how it encourages narcissism. And you have a lethal combination.

I have no problem burning those chickens if it means preventing another pandemic.

I kill chickens on the regular via all the chicken I eat, especially since I stopped eating beef.
I actually prefer chicken over beef with the exception of a good burger. I could eat grilled chicken and rice everyday. But why did you give up beef?

Grayson Allen is on fire...27 points and 6 threes so far.
We have given up so many good players over the last few years. Allen is decent. I don’t really like him but he’s a decent player. We should’ve had Bane. Should’ve had Herb Jones. Instead… we have butler who never plays and Felton Spencer 2.0.

The real question is would you have taken the tickets to the game last night if we drafted Bane and Jones?

Just wanna mention that beef specifically is one of the most significant contributors to climate change and ecological destruction around the world. What makes that reality especially depressing is that beef and milk are not necessities while also being a major underlying factor in the massive problem of heart disease.

Just some food for thought. You don't have to be an animal rights crusader to see reason by deciding to ditch dairy/beef (but still eating poultry, eggs, fish, etc.).

Anyway, basketball, am I right?

Well they aren't a necessity in developed countries. In a lot of undeveloped nations milk is a necessary staple due to the nutrient density and the fact that it is accessible. Granted this doesn't usually drive the factory farms that cause the biggest impact to the environment, but we so often take a limited 1st world view of things like this without considering impact across the socioeconomic spectrum worldwide.

Be quiet mr. Science. Don’t bug me with facts and figures. I love muh beef and I’m gonna eat it whenever I want. Muh body muh choice. And if I get a heart attack? You damn doctors better make me better or else!

I could live without beef and milk probably. Although, I do love a cold glass of milk when finishing off a brownie or a hot crown burger before hitting up a jazz game.

I couldn’t live without chicken. Like I said, I could live off chicken and rice everyday. Throw a fruit or veggie somewhere in there and I’d be set.

I haven't drank a total 12oz of milk from 7 years old until today. Nastiest **** in the world imho. I've had ice cream and I cook with milk or cream at times but to just drink the stuff? Not for me.

I agree that I'm perfectly fine substituting chicken and seafood for beef and I don't even feel like I'm missing out on anything.

Ranching is actually far more ecologically harmful than factory farming. It's the primary driver in the destruction of the Amazon, for starters.

Skeptical milk is really a staple given the frequency of lactose intolerance and that there are other types of livestock that are easier to raise (chickens and pigs can survive off refuse and are smaller). But I am certainly no expert and am pretty deferential to arguments of 1st world privilege and naïveté. At minimum, though, I am entirely confident in the original assertion that cattle are not a necessity for developed nations which consume a vastly outsized proportion of goods and service relative to their populations, ESPECIALLY something as resource-intensive as beef.

Anyway... basketball. Sorry.
