This right here. Did Hassan even shoot 10x this series? We were pretty successful as a team when Hassan would get 7-10 shots a night. Ironically when we never go to him we end up losing games, or barely squeezing out a win. Also, why not go to Hassan in the deep post if he is in the game? He's actually been proven to be very effective against small ball. You can tell his energy was super low because he would never get the ball. A couple time he ran the court on fastbreak to get deep position against a small in the post and he never got looked at.
I think he checked out a while ago and I think the players knew it.I think criticism of Quin in this series will depend on what you think an NBA coach should be held responsible for. His offense generated open looks to great 3pt shooters. The defense, in this series, was kind of ok. His substitutions get a lot of criticism, but we only had one player the whole series who played really well, so you can't really point to a substitution that would for sure have made a big difference.
How responsible is an NBA coach for motivating, taking care of locker room stuff, and managing egos? I'm honestly not sure.
All that said, this is the 3rd year in a row that we have underperformed in the playoffs in my opinion. I think Quin needs to go, and maybe more importantly seems like he wants to go.
I heard Locke said something I do believe. He said, "The front office is full of smart guys, the coaching staff are smart and tried their hardest, the players are good guys and try their hardest, this just hasn't worked."
I haven't been able to stand listening to Lock since he was on sports talk radio before he went to Seatle.I use to listen to Locked On daily. I dont anymore. I think since Ryan Smith bought the team, they definitely turned the dial up on the propaganda.
Though there is still value in listening to him. You have to kind of read inbetween the lines of what he says and how he says it. He definitely doestn believe everything he says and you can tell if you've listened to him for a while.
For argument’s sake, let’s say it’s not in the coach. Who, then, is charged with that role? How responsible is an NBA coach for motivating, taking care of locker room stuff, and managing egos? I'm honestly not sure.
Love it. Blow it all up and drop off Quin in the middle of the desert with his tank. That sounds fun.The Jazz should trade everyone and keep Quin. It does no good to get a new coach to start a rebuild anyway. Might as well try to get some assets somehow and maybe even tank. Unless you can get a pick for Quin, and in that case- see ya!
