"We have to adapt," Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said. "Our game plan against Utah is not going to work against the Suns. We've already changed that mindset because we're not playing the Jazz.

Ayton and company) can hurt you in the paint...

This isn't Gobert or Whiteside. These guys can put the ball in the basket.''

Its the toughest type of shade... its the shade that hurts because its true.

Kidd is also a dick for saying it.

Quin put us in a position to be punked like this. Not just because of what he did within the series, but the whole season-long (multiple seasons) or misapplied emphasis that causes us to lose a series we should have never lost (hell, a series we should have never been in) and it opens the door to a douchebag like Kidd running his mouth.

Quin's attitude towards feeding the ball to Rudy down low was pretty clear with the "wired" segment after they gave Rudy a post up (something no one thinks works or is asking for) and says "now we have fed him down low..." It's the "we checked that box" attitude that tells me he doesn't believe in it and that is part of why Rudy didn't get any touches.

The Eurobasket stuff is not something I truly believe, but there are times when he has Jalen Brunson or Reggie Jackson pinned under the basket and if you are actually considering or taught that type of pass it is something that should happen... none of our guards even acknowledge it because they are just lining up to shoot the money ball pullup three (it ain't just Donovan).

Ayton is way better and catching and sealing his dude and can finish with a baby hook... so switch everything won't work for Dallas. I kind of hope they get punked to show how far away we truly are from being a "contender".

Rudy has zero offensive game. This shouldn't be news to anybody. He sets the best screens in the NBA and he can throw down a good pass.

Rudy is like the best RB in the NFL who has no real catching ability. Yes, when everything around him is set up great, he can completely dominate and run through the opposition. It's just a shame he hasn't learned how to catch the ball.

Rudy has got to play better no doubt, but his teammates are not blameless either. No one would accuse Whiteside of being a "zero offensive move" type of big man, but he struggled much more than Rudy. Unfortunately for Rudy, he did play like **** and he's gonna keep hearing this criticism until he actually performs.

I don’t even think he was throwing shade, he was just speaking as a matter of fact. Which is somehow worse.

Rudy not catching the ball was pretty close to a non issue in the Dallas series.

Whiteside can put the ball in the basket, we just never passed to him...
Of course occasionally he misses a gimme at the rim by bumping it against the front of the rim two times in succession.

There’s a video of Gobert scrimmaging against Wembanyama on YouTube and it’s surprising the array of moves Rudy displays. We never see any of that in games. Is that due to the coach, or offensive game plan? Seems like Rudy still has room for growth in that area. Always felt like we never saw the complete Ingles when he played for the Jazz. Completely different player when he played for Australia.

Part of it is their roles on the National teams, France was pounding the ball into Rudy because USA had no one big enough to guard Rudy. It is hard for Rudy to develop his offensive game when he is setting picks at the top of the key and rarely gets the ball throw to him. Look at some of the box scores where Rudy has 3-6 shots and DM, CJ, Bogey have 15-20 plus. It is really tough to watch when our perimeter guys are clanking 3pts without even trying to get Rudy involved. I just think there needs to be more balance on who gets the shots on the team especially when you have clanked 3 or 4 3pts in a row. Why not try to pass it to the guy who is shooting over 70 percent from the field.
