2022 NBA Draft Thread: We Going to Have a Pick! (lmao jk)

Didn't OKC pay $0 in real money for Favors because they were under the floor?

You can't buy a FRP with cash, no one will do it, you can only do it by taking on salary.

See what these picks go for this year -- Philly at #23 and Miami at #27. Obviously the Jazz buying #27 from Denver for $3M is ancient history by now, but I think late 1sts will go for around $6M or $7M.
We don’t need to… wood just got traded for 26 and salary filler.

Royce for Green and 23 is totally fair imo… they may get a little better than that.

We need to go find some former players from Houston to really grease the wheels… go sign Ariza, House, and Nene… maybe we can get Embiid.

PHI has got to find a way to get off Thybulle, Kormaz, and probably Niang or find a Harris taker if they want Tucker.

There are caps set on the amount a team can spend in a trade. It was $3 million for a long time.

Also, the Jazz spent $3 million and traded a second-rounder attached to it in a really bad draft eight years ago.

Depends on what Harden does. May opt out and take less this year and get a longer deal.

Aren’t we essentially saying taking green dead salary and swapping him with a real player in Royce should get 23?

I don't think the Sixers want a real player in Royce. I think they want to clear salary to get under the tax apron and sign Tucker to a full mid-level in free agency. I think the Sixers want to trade Thybulle into a TPE or take back a non-guaranteed deal like Juancho. They might want a future pick too though.

Non-guaranteed contracts become guaranteed if you trade them.
