What's new

Ayton

Yeah that's when "hamstring management" and "general soreness" would come in handy. GSW could have had Curry come back later in that season but they shut him down so they could embrace the tank. Like I said, you don't have to intentionally go for bad players in order to tank. Bad players would prevent you from ever getting out of the tank even if you are able to draft some future superstars in this league.
... and before GSW shut down Curry for the season, Klay was already lost for the entire year and Curry already missed most of the season because of a legitimate injury.

It looks to me like Ayton gets a lot of points off Paul. We don't have a guy that can set him up like that in Utah.

Pretty much all big get their points off someone else in todays nba. The post game isnt used much. Rudy got all his points off ingles, conley, don, etc. nice thing is that ayton can get his own points if you want to go that way. His jumper is silky, his baby hook is butter, and he has good footwork, size, athleticism, and youth.

Yes. Still doesn't mean we can't just shut down good players with fake injuries. If you watch OKC they've been shutting down their guys for the most BS reasons.

lol.

He's still on his rookie deal and two years younger than Ayton, plus I believe the draft capital we'd get accompanying him would be greater than what we'd get for Ayton.

Ayton is still on his rookie deal right now too. He’s due for an extension. RJ will be getting an extension from New York or from us right after we got him. That is just super weird. I don’t think the difference in draft capital with either will be much different.

If Don is being traded then we need to just tank. Ayton and Bridges would be counterproductive to that.

Not necessarily. Ayton and bridges are not superstars. Surround them with garbage and they arent winning a ton by themselves. Even if they somehow did manage to win a lot i dont see that as a problem as that would mean we had two young stars already and a boatload of picks. Not a bad way to do a rebuild imo.

Ayton is a restricted free agent. His rookie deal is done.

But they’re not on their rookie deals…

They'd probably win enough to make the tank a half-assed one, while at the same time reducing the amount of draft capital we bring back for Donovan.

Getting Ayton/Bridges for Mitchell instead of a treasure trove of picks seems like following the first option.

What if we get one of those players AND a treasure trove of picks? That is what i have been hearing would happen. We get ayton and multiple picks.

Ayton + Bridges + a treasure trove of picks would obviously be fantastic, but I don't think that's a realistic return.

A young promising player + a treasure trove of picks is my preference over Ayton/Bridges is my point, for a myriad of reasons.

You can't read.

I literally advocated for getting good young promising player(s) on their rookie deals in a return for Mitchell.

Why does the good young player have to be on a rookie deal though? I think there is a minimum slary requirement that the jazz have to reach ( i could be wrong).

We wont have to worry about spending too much if we get rid of our current roster.

Exactly. Someone on this roster will need to get paid.

Sorry, I'm out of patience with you.

If you're too stupid to follow the argument, then don't respond to me.
