Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

I have no idea who’s available and who’s not. I’m not an NBA GM. You make a move for Ayton then see where you go from there. We are loaded with a **** ton of draft capital right now.

Did anyone think Murray was available up until a couple of days ago?

Murray was made available because the Spurs are tanking it this season. Mitchell is now available because the Jazz are probably going to do the same thing.

I am okay with being horrible for a few years if it means we can build something better than we have now. If the deal is good enough, trade Don, snag Ayton, trade for Russ to get more picks and command this tank and LET'S ROLL!!

He's not your #1 guy. Mitchell is your #2 guy, like Kyrie. The Jazz don't have a #1 guy, which is one of the reasons why they're stuck. Plus if he's not going to defend teams are going to expose him like Dallas did.
Issue for us has been Donovan has never had a #2 guy. hard to be a contender when Clarkson is your second best scorer

Mitchell literally lead us to being a game or two away from the WCF averaging 32.3 PPG in the playoffs. How is he not a #1 guy?

He also led us to losing in the 1st round against a Dallas team that didn't even have their best player for half the series. How is that being an effective #1 guy on a contender?
Durant got swept by Boston. Tatum got destroyed by Boston last year. Steph didn’t make the playoffs last year. Booker never even made the playoffs until they got CP3. Those dudes not #1 options?

I think there was probably a scenario where Gobert could have been moved for OG/GTJ and Bojan plus a pick could be moved for John Collins. That would give us Mitchell/GJ/OG/Collins...

But what's the point if Mitchell is going to be gone after two years? That's a pretty short run if you ask me. So you can see what direction the Jazz have chosen.

I do not recall the direct conversation being a deal of Mitchell for Ayton/Bridges straight across.
Let me refresh your memory then. Jom said this:
It'd be cool if we can do a sign-and-trade for Ayton without involving Don. But if Don's part of the deal for Ayton, we need to get Bridges.
I said I didn't want it. You threw a tantrum.

I clarified later the following:

Ayton + Bridges + a treasure trove of picks would obviously be fantastic, but I don't think that's a realistic return.

A young promising player + a treasure trove of picks is my preference over Ayton/Bridges is my point, for a myriad of reasons.

Toronto wasn’t moving out those guys until Durant is traded

I don't disagree with you. If the Jazz had a foundation of Mitchell / Jaylen Brown / Gobert that team would be really good. But we never had that. The team wasn't built well enough. Now it's time to move on.

Me telling you that you’re underrating Ayton and Bridges is throwing a tantrum? Yet I’m the one who argues like a politician?

People think tanks last a decade… what leads teams to being ****** for 10 years is not tanking when it’s obviously something they should do. Absorb the process fully and you will be good in 2-3 years if you have some luck… 3-4 years if you aren’t particularly lucky… maybe less.
