Woj says the Jazz are listening to offers for Mitchell

Yeah, so maybe not a super reputable thing I pushed, but the dude hasnt made a single comment on any of the Jazz moves and isnt showing up to SL to support the team. He's pretty clearly signaling he isnt invested in the Jazz.
Oh I 100% agree... not one tweet with all the coming and going... also a bunch of cryptic tweets going out.

I honestly think they may have said "we can get what we want... we can get you where you want to be... we need you to be quiet and let us lie a lot... you or CAA blow this **** and we send you to Siberia".

You’re also going to eventually make large financial commitments to Barrett/Herro. I’m skeptical they will produce what their value is…and if they do, they introduce that fear of stopping the tank.

I don’t really look at Simmons as a piece to flip, although I think that’s a option. I think he flat out has a better chance at being a star player than any of the pieces that are being mentioned. The risk reward ratio is good for us, not so good if you were a team relying on him to win games immediately.
I'd try and flip both guys... so I wouldn't necessarily be making the commitment. I thought Ben had 4 years left on his deal. 3 years isn't bad. We still have infinity cap space next year most likely... one extra year is whatever.

Those Suns picks will be better than any other picks that are really on the table.

The Suns picks very much remind me of the Brooklyn deal for KG... hey we have a young stud guard and now we surround him with aging but producing talent... we got this! YOLO! We Never Gonna Die!!!

Then you land multiple lotto picks.

That potential deal leaking is also tremendous... NY may be iffy on getting Don by giving up everything... then they see Brooklyn gonna get him and are like "hell no give them all teh pickz!"

Also tell Ryan and Ben our goal is to make him look awesome so he makes the AS game... they'd both be doing chest bumps!

Yup, same reason why I didn’t think the Heat deal was good. The Knicks are not going to let a draft pick 6-7 years from now get in the way of getting Mitchell. Especially if it means they let him go to a rival.

From here….I just hope Danny values the players were getting back correctly.

Any potential cap space for the next three years is for rent to take on picks anyway. So there is for sure an opportunity cost incurred by the Jazz for the cap they use, but if the part of the deal that is taking on Simmons is two unprotected picks then you try to assess if that was a good use of the space. But it’s not as though Simmons’ salary is a real expense due to the 90% cap rule.

And then there’s the possibility that this is kind of exactly what Simmons needed and it actually goes kinda well. But the above analysis should be the principle one as him actually playing basketball or being good should not be expected.

Also, being in the thick of the KD scrum with the Nets a legit threat to be the landing spot for Donovan is more pressure for the Knicks to up the ante.

The New York fans will go nuclear if the Knicks do not get DM. They know DM is available and the Knicks really have to go all in on this opportunity or the fans will burn MSG to the ground.

the latest rumors seem to have us focused on picks... so that's a good sign. Andy also said with the Heat they are still in it but they need help... said we kinda told them to see what picks they can get for their other guys. So Riley has to find them a deal for Herro/Lowry that nets us something we prefer.

Also they will burn down MSG when they trade for him by giving up too much... either way MSG burns.

Is this from a radio spot?

We just have so many players and so much flexibility to be the middle person on the KD/Kyrie deals... get in there and help everyone get what they want while taking all the draft stuff and we are set.

That's just how I would be negotiating with MIA. The package they have stinks unless you really think Herro is going to be a star. I certainly don't feel that way, so if MIA wants Don they have to find a different team that does value Herro that way and give us that haul instead. The Heat don't have a package themselves that I'd say yes to.

If the Nets deal(s) get done, they'd probably love to have some combination of Bogey/Conley/Clarkson/Beverley as well. I'd be happy to take back Joe Harris and some sweeter for their pick of our vets. If Danny weasels his way to get the Lakers picks and distant Suns pick, that is a godfather type package.

That is how I view Ben as well. The thing about Ben is that his teams have always been competing for a top seed and I think that is one of the primary reasons why he hasn't tried more to expand his game during the season. Put him on a team with zero expectations and I think he would feel more comfortable taking those outside shots even if he is shooting them at low rate. That is the first step for him to becoming a decent outside shooter. We have all seen the offseason videos of him shooting outside shots and he looks good but it just hasn't translated to his actually game. Put him on a crappy team for a few years where he is forced to take a lot of shots and I would put money on his game improving quite a bit. In the meantime while he is working on his game we are able to low key tank. Somewhat similar to what we have seen with the thunder and SGA. He has blown up these last few years but his supporting cast has been so bad and inexperienced that it hasn't hindered the tank that much.
