Woj says the Jazz are listening to offers for Mitchell

According to the IceColdCubano guy, the Jazz and Heat met this afternoon in Las Vegas. Allegedly, the Knicks are offering a package that includes Barrett, 5 picks and 2 swaps. The Heat are currently offering a package that includes Herro, 3 picks and 2 swaps. Heat may have the ability to potentially add one more pick. This guy maintains that the Jazz like Herro at least as much as they like Barrett. He also says that the Jazz have no interest to take back Ben Simmons, which makes a Mitchell trade to Brooklyn more difficult.

Take it with a grain of salt, but a package from NYK that includes Barrett, 5 picks and 2 swaps (if it's real) would be pretty tough for anyone to beat.
At this point that guy is looking up to BigMike when it comes to insider credentials. If the Knicks have that offer out there then Miami really has no chance to beat it and I’d expect it’d already be done by now. Five picks and Barrett is a huge haul.

He's been right about several things so far. I won't rehash it with you. Also, apparently teams have given BRK their offer and it's not good enough for BRK to want to do the deal. Hence, the KD trade talks have stalled somewhat.

This is the full quote:

Meeting happened with Utah and other teams presenting a package for Donovan Mitchell, meeting was not long, went well, however we are indeed competing with New York. They have indeed included RJB in their proposal which is what were bidding against right now. The good news they favor Herro over RJB by a small margine. The bad news were getting trumped badly on the assets. Looks like New york has responded with 5 FRP's and 2 swaps. Miami is not there. The other teams are unwilling to get us anything more than 1 FRP at the moment unloading Lowry and Fillers. Were at 3 FRP's and 2 swaps. Miami is holding on 1 FRP and is unwilling to go full on Mitchel just yet. Hoping to use this RFP on a secondary trade for depth.

Let’s break this down.

For starters this guy claims to know someone in the Heat front office who calls him for updates (lmao).

Somehow this guy knows the Knicks offered Barrett + 5 1sts + 2 pick swaps.

Other teams are only willing to give them 1 1st for Lowry and fillers. Yet the Heat won’t use that extra pick for a Mitchell trade they are holding onto one for a secondary trade for depth. They also know the Knicks offer ***** on any possible offer they can come up with except extra picks but yet they want to keep one.

L O ****ING L

It gets even better he says that Miami is able to get another 1st from another team but doesn’t want to use it in a Mitchell deal they’d rather hold onto it to trade for depth lmao.

Depending on the protections on those picks, yes.

Miami is allegedly willing to trade Lowry for draft capital to add to a package for KD or Mitchell. There is also a move Miami can make with OKC to alter the protections on a pick MIA owes them, so that the pick is sure to convey.

No… did you read what he said? He said they’d rather hold onto the extra pick to use for depth lmao.

The deal with OKC is something myself and HH have discussed already on here. Not some inside knowledge. Maybe we should go on there claiming we have some inside info.

All of that is perfectly reasonable from Miami's perspective. Everyone knows that if NYK really puts their foot down, the Knicks can offer the most for Mitchell.

I've fallen for the random dude on the internet with inside sources trick before. Hayward left and random dude disappeared.

Here are some of the things that this guy has been proven right about:
** That the Jazz were discussing trades for Mitchell as early as June 19th.
** That the Heat submitted a formal offer on Monday, June 20th. Verified by Eric Walden.
** That Mitchell's preferred teams are Miami and NYK (allegedly in that order) and these are the teams bidding for Mitchell.
** That Miami was pushed to increase its offer and submit it by Friday, June 24. Verified by a Miami Heat reporter.
** That Mitchell is being discussed in scenarios with BRK. Verified by multiple reporters.
** That Mitchell remains on the trade market, despite the Jazz saying he isn't. Later verified by Woj.

Half of this board was in denial that the Jazz have been trying to trade Mitchell until Woj's comments this week.

So they’d use the extra pick they would get from a Lowry deal for depth? That’s their preference?

Miami probably does not want to spend all of its conceivable assets on Mitchell if they can hold one of them back to bolster the team in other ways. They believe that the Heat are Mitchell's preferred destination.

Lmao… it is going to take all of their assets plus pulling a rabbit out of a hat to get Mitchell. You are living in la la land.

If competitive pressure from Miami has resulted in the Knicks upping their offer to include Barrett and 5 picks, then the Heat have already done their job for us. If that's really true, then the Jazz can just negotiate the protections on those picks and close the deal.

Half the board? It's like 5 posters at most

Why would Miami be doing us any favors? That offer isn’t competitive at all. It’s not even the max of 3 pick swaps they can do.
