Woj: Don to the Cavs for Markkanen, Agbaji, Sexton, three unprotected 1sts, two swaps, and a partridge in a pear tree.

On vacation rn so can’t really process….but man that was unexpected. On first thought, I don’t really love any of the three prospects we got and I think CLE has a good future so we’ll on the picks. I think this is not as good as I had from the Knicks, but I guess the Knicks didn’t want to play ball.

I am so shocked the Knicks didn’t want Mitchell more than CLE did. There will be Armageddon in New York. Whatever they do, fans will question why they didn’t go and get Mitchell. They have to win a championship to clear the stink.
 
Cavs will be really strong for sure.......lets push those picks out.

Honestly like the fliers on Sexton and Lauri too.
 
This is great. I am kind of glad the Knicks don’t get Don, though admittedly had been trying to get interested in the Knicks players. I’ll have to do some review of the three guys we got coming back now.
 
So it has to be like 25/27/29 and is Don even there then. What if Mobley has injury issues similar to JJJ? I'm guessing the swap is for 2023 with the Minny pick (total guess).
 
Don's skills will be maximized in Cleveland. He may hate playing there but he can torch it Cleveland and the fan base there loves that team.
 
I love Mobley, and Cavs have a pretty nice team now. So like the TWolves, the picks are tbd.

I don't even know the name of the rookie, but I guess he is a good piece. My initial reaction is slightly underwhelmed. But glad it's over. And Mitchell going to Cleveland instead of New York is pretty funny.
 
I know the reports are that Mitchell wanted NYK, but he should prefer this.

He's on a top 10 team with a chance to win a ring in the next 3 years.

In NYK he would have been on a mediocre team where he would be forced to be a recruiter to win games. In 3 years he can bolt to LA or Miami.

Don can opt out summer 2025. Let’s hope the Cavs do Cavs things. They’re in a good spot with Mobley, so disaster situation is likely not in play. But Mitchell is one of those players you could easily see leaving a good situation.

You just know Don was hoping and praying he was going to be sent to NY.
 
Best part may be Donovan learning an Arrested Development lesson.
