A stretch option wouldn't be bad to have in the arsenal.Doesnt really fit the Lakers. Their whole thing is they want centers next to AD to protect his frail body in the regular sesaon.

yes, all die hards that are happy the deal didn't happenMeh. nothing special there. boring fans
Any chance Markannen is in the deal to go to the Lakers?
We need to find a way into the 2024 draft. That’s a gaping hole right now.
Yeah. '27 and '29 are gonna be fire, but there's a pretty big hole here at the beginning of this which is disconcerting. The '23 picks were one of the big selling picks of the Knicks and now we don't got those. We need to find a way into the 2024 draft. That’s a gaping hole right now.
Theoretically, sure, but AD is made of glass and the center position is much more important for them to fill since their perimeter defense isnt going to be elite.A stretch option wouldn't be bad to have in the arsenal.
There are probably gonna be a few more trades..I'm just glad the trade is over and that we can move on with our lives. Finally.
TODAYWhen does the Westbrook trade get announced?
Yes, I agree. There should be, but the big stone has been moved. Now the rest of the roster moves can be made and we can see what the real plan for this year is.There are probably gonna be a few more trades..
Yeah, but it required someone to go all in (basically). I underestimated how quickly the Cavs wanted to put the timeline of contention up.See... this is EXACTLY what I meant. The Knicks had the most they can offer... but ONLY if they actually offered some of the good stuff they had. They pretty much offered the worst picks, the worst young players and relied that volume would make them the favorites. This is NOT how things work. If you look at what Ainge did with the Gobert trade it was obvious he was prioritizing picks that can actually turn into something good(unprotected picks far in the future + pick swaps far in the future). What did the Knicks reported offer include - early picks with limited potential for high end upside. What did the Cleveland offer include - ALL the unprotected picks they could have offered, two of them in 27 and 29(those are gold) and 2 picks swaps(again the two pick swaps furthest away in the future!!!). Then add this year's lottery pick Ochai Agbaji and a player Ainge seems to love in Sexton(there have been rumors about the Jazz wanting him for 2 months - initially not connected to Mitchell trade but now included in that trade) and this offer become sooooooooooooo much more appealing than what the Knicks were offering.
I love this trade. Au revoir Donovan and have a nice day Leon "Mastermind" Rose.
Yeah, I think we discussed Cleveland specifically in one of the other threads with you a week or two ago. You can never predict the exact team that will do it, but there are enough teams in the league with promising young cores that at any moment one of them is bound to convince themselves that they are ready and need to make the next step right away. Especially since players like Mitchell and Gobert on such long-term contracts don't actually become available very often. We just managed to find 2 of them in the same off-season. Good job by Ainge.Yeah, but it required someone to go all in (basically). I underestimated how quickly the Cavs wanted to put the timeline of contention up.
It was hilarious listening to Knicks podcaster talking about how they could only do 2 unprotecteds and honestly they'd need to keep RJ, Obi, and Grimes... and LA can kick in some picks... I just wanted to yell... We were providing all the value in those scenarios... why the Lakers paying your tab.See... this is EXACTLY what I meant.
