I just put together a 4 team masterpiece with LA/Portland/Utah/Chicago. Vando goes to Portland... winslow to LA... Beasley/Bogey from Utah to LA.

Lakers send the pick (28) and a swap (27)... Porty reduced protections to top 4... Bulls send the Porty pick and maybe a swap in 29.

JC probably opts out, so they basically have the most money anyone would offer Kyrie next year, while keeping Vando (and his Bird Rights). If JC doesn't opt out, they STILL might be the team with the biggest offer for him and have JC. Gives the Lakers basically an entire legit NBA rotation around Lebron and AD.

Lakers would probably prefer to take back less money in a deal but the Jazz are right up against the LT and close to the hard apron. This is as close to equal salaries as you can find.

I don’t really see a Vanderbilt/Nunn swap being a part of the deal but maybe.

For the Lakers' bag? Cuz the Lakers won't give the bag or cuz the Jazz would **** around for some reason?

They don't get him without sending the bag. They do if they do. Simple.
 
If you get off of Gay's salary then the trade with the Lakers becomes more likely. You trade only Bogey, Beasley, NAW and Butler. You keep Clarkson and Conley for other trades. The Lakers would love this from a cap and talent perspective. Their salary drops this year and they have zero money allocated for next year. That's the best deal for them.

I don’t mind it at all but I just don’t think that swap really does much for them in the grand scheme of things.

Gay’s contract actually isn’t bad at all. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a team take him in a TPE for cash or a 2nd? Maybe I’m being optimistic.

I think Boston would end up doing Gallo for Gay and they send cash and a second more likely. They are in the tax so adding Gay is an expensive proposition. Gallo also has two years left. Not sure if insurance covers his injury if we trade for him but it might be a straight money dump. We could then waive him.

If they have interest we may be able to get him to decline his player option and we waive his salary and he can go there on a minimum deal. Or maybe he just gives back like 2M each year and we buy him out.

Gallinari can’t be traded until December 15th.
