Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Almost as funny as someone saying "Team X that has two of the best 10 nba players in the league, should punt on those guys winning anything to potentially save some picks in 5-7 years".
This isnt the bubble anymore, AD not a top 10 player anymore and that roster is too far beyond broken that some mid isnt going to help it that much.

I know some folks are excited Rudy is gone as he was one of the worst perimeter shooters in Utah Jazz history.

Bogey sucks at some things but he is pretty underrated. Top 30 scorer by volume in the nba, does it on incredible efficiency, and does not dominate the ball. Incredibly durable and super professional.

JC is a bit much because he dominates the ball and isn't efficient. Though he a great bucket getter.
Passing is a fundamental skill for all players to have for basketball to be a aesthetically enjoyable experience IMO.

The Jazz became a multi-headed version of the Harden era Rockets and it sucked.

As the inventor and most knowledgeable person here on the term "super swaps", I would gladly just take one unprotected first from the Lakers and Super Swaps© before and after. Who says no (please dont say no)?

When the **** has Bogey become a mid player? He’s one of the best non-star players in the league.
He basically offsets his offense with his defense every year and he hurts your team's rebounding ability greatly unless you have a GOAT rebounder at center and/or highly productive rebounding guards.

High effort individual defender in the PO but still gets absolutely cooked and is a nuclear warhead to your team's ability to rotate on defense.

Undeniably valuable in the right context but I dont think he's a true difference maker if your team isnt elite and in need of his particular skillset.

Combine that with the ever lurking element of father time and you have mid. I will say he is high mid though and easily the best of the Jazz available players.

I liked the term exotic swaps I tried to coin early in this process. I would do a 2028 pick with little to no protections and a Super Exotic Swap in 27 with the picks we own.

While passing is important there are many that think shooting is the most important skill on the court. With our limited passers we had the #1 offense or damn close to it for years.

I just think Bogey has gotten underrated.

I'm not really saying he is bad, I just didnt really enjoy watching him.

Lonzo is like a 1 of 1 player. You arent going to find defensive 1st guards w/ plus size who can play either guard spot, make your teammates better on both ends, shoot volume 3s at a high percentage, can defend multiple positions, make your team play faster ,etc.

Giving up late first and gambling on his health is a bargain if it's on the table. I doubt it is.
A healthy Ball would be a great compliment to Sexton. He would have been perfect fit for DM.

I'm not sure what you definition of mid is... but Bogey is a really good starter level player. Beasley is a solid starter level player. JC is a great sixth man. Vando is a solid starter in the right scenario. Not saying lakers would be the favorites.... everything hangs on Lebron and AD's health... but that team gives them the best shot they will have to win a title in the next 7-8 years? 10-12 years?

Playing scared and punting on Lebron/AD would be a huge mistake imo. Especially because they wouldn't even get the draft rewards of it failing.

Bojan, Beasley, Gay, Vando, Two Picks. Why do those words keep poping into my head? Is that a magical phrase? A new pop song?

He had the shortcut surgery... where they trim/remove the meniscus. Sexton had the repair long-term surgery (longer recovery time but better long-term). Now has to have a surgery to remove debris... I am actually talking myself out of it completely.
I just can’t wrap my head around getting the shortcut surgery. I just can’t.

I also can’t wrap my head around someone prognosticating concern about Sexton’s knee when he did the smart thing and being like “lmao Ball is fine” when he did the dumb thing ON TOP OF his previous spotty history.

I probably still do the trade just on the chance he can get back in TWO YEARS, but you don’t do it unless you’re prepared to allocate $70 million in cap for nothing. Like, does he need to have some **** pulled off a cadaver? That’s the kind of area this might go; sketchy or unproven practices.
