Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

If they dont have Ayton they will have pieces from a trade for Ayton, which will be good pieces.
As long as Booker, Bridges, Johnson don't sour on the org they should be a playoff team with the options they can put around those guys. They also have all of their own picks to use in deals.

As a contender though... these are not the vibes you want to start with... Monty should have been talking with Ayton ages ago.

Do you feel like Ayton gets you a Rudy or Donovan package? I kind of feel like, as much as I loved him, we got really lucky with what we got for Rudy. I don't think Centers are going to be highly valued going forward, even the best ones.

I don't think he would bring back nearly as good of a package as Rudy and Don did.

I doubt they are moving Ayo at all... I don't know that they would attach a pick to move him this year. I think straight up is likely fair... but receiving Ball is a high risk proposition and I am not sure even if it works out if we are in a position to benefit from the potential big reward.

speaking of Ball, bad news on his knee again, still not right. Feel bad for the guy with all the work he put in to improve Hard to see him staying healthy from this point

It would be a different package... likely more of a premium on win now players vs. picks. Likely a pick or two added in to make up the difference between the player(s) you are trading and Ayton.

It also depends on how he looks. If he dogs it out there his value falls.

No, but still good

Eh, I don't think they get fair value for him, even though Indiana did a huge favor for the Suns by offering him a clean contract.

No. Which might seem wild... I'm not crazy high on Beasley long term but he could have a good first half of the season and I could see his trade value getting fairly high. His contract has some upside because of the team option... and it has no downside like JC and Mike's could.
I see the downside of keeping him being bout the same of Mike and JC (not enough playing time for all the guards, let alone the ones behind all of these that might not getting waived, like THT and NAW, that may end up playing some SF in some three guards lineups, which i'm not really on board with, maybe worse than they not playing at all). I understand that Beasley could be worth a first, but i can't see his value going up much better, as to imagine it going like a first and a really interesting prospect, nor 2 firsts (maybe that if we had 2 bad contracts coming in and 2 contributing players of our own going, but who could be that 2nd player going from us to make sense that happening ? Vanderbilt ? And would our management even want take on another 2 bad contracts, even if not very long ones ?), more of it going over how protected and/or how high the pick is expected to be, maybe some 2nd to sweeten the deal.

Still wouldn't be in such a rush to do so (even if it seems the roster we have now is the one we'll start the season, except for the waivers and whoever gets a cheap go at it with some trade exception just to save costs for Ryan), as that Ball situation is that strange and risky, and ironically, if we shut him down for this year and got him good for 23/24, alongside of a great 23 draft pick, maybe we'd be too good too soon, while not elite (of a young core) enough, even if still some loaded on picks/swaps ?

I want Ayton so I would keep Conley plus some bigs for that trade in February. Since the team is selling they may appreciate less long-term salary.

I really don't see Ainge trading for a center that makes $35 million a year. As the front office starts to build the roster back up over the next few years, I think center will be the position they view as the least important, and they spend the least amount of money on.

He is reaping second-hand karma for what a total douchebag his dad is.

Uh, no offense.

Seriously though it is too bad. He has the tools that is for sure.

But, you know, my empathy is tempered a bit. I mean now all he has to fall back on is the millions and millions he has "earned", before the age of 25, playing a school-yard game. I feel sooooo bad for him.

It's crazy that people wanted us to trade for Lonzo like a week ago and that dude's career might be over
Now is the perfect time to take a shot at a Lonzo. If he gets it straight, and it will take him a season or 2 to really get back to form, he could be the PG alongside Wemby or whoever else that elevates us to the promised land. And if he doesn't, then he helps the tank by taking a role out of commission for us. Win-win (for us).
