10 Hot Takes/Predictions for teh SZN

1. The Jazz will win 23 games

2. No one on the Jazz will average 20 ppg. The closest will be Lauri, he will average 18.7 PPG.

3. The Jazz will make 3 separate trades from the time of this post until the mid-season trade deadline.

4. @Handlogten's Heros will like THT by the end of the season.

5. Walker Kessler will make the All-Rookie 2nd Team.

6. Mike Conley will not be traded this season. He will average roughly 25 mpg and appear in 50 games (no major injuries). He will be good enough to where he is a tradeable asset in 2023-2024 without being viewed as a negative for the team acquiring him. (My caveat would be if John Wall has a season ending injury the Clippers will trade for him)

7. Despite the high amount of 3pt shooting talent the Jazz have, they will be a bottom 10 team in terms of 3pt shooting percentage.

8. The Jazz will have the worst defense per Team Defensive Rating (via NBA.com)

9. Jared Vanderbilt will lead the team in rebounds per game.

10. 4/6/23 will be the most important game of the season and it will decide who has the worst record in the NBA. If I told you the names of every Jazz player who will play in the game that day, you will only recognize 4 of the names from the current roster. The others will be G-League call-ups. The level of atrocity on display will make the league consider changes to the rules.

*Bonus Non-Jazz Take* T'Wolves finish 1st in the Western Conference Regular Season and lose in the Conference Finals.

I do think Conley is gone by the deadline though. There are a lot of scenarios where he becomes sought after. Wall might just not work out for example, or any number of competing teams needing a PG or just a boost. We'll be motivated to move him as well. Maybe we won't get a first, but I think we'll settle for seconds. He'll be one of the better and more available options out there.

I mean last night was his best game and its still really statistically underwhelming. Missed a bunch of free throws and bricked one off the side of the backboard. If he plays well I will like him... Would love for him to play well enough to decline his option... though I don't think it is likely.

All of these weren’t that bad until the bonus one which is hilarious.

He's going to play well enough that people won't be mad that he doesn't decline his option, but not well enough to decline it.

My hot takes
1. Jazz are going to be a fringe 500 team at the end of the season and lose in the play in, provided they trade iso tank commanders JC & or THT and try to play team ball.
2. They are just as likely to win the lottery or one of the top 4 picks sitting at 13th in the standings after developing through trying to win, with a mix of vets and youth, then playing the worst line ups and tanking.
3. Sexton will play reasonable defense for the first time in his career once the season gets going.
4. The regular season line ups will look nothing like they do right now.( unless they are completely blatantly tanking)

This is the hottest of hot takes seeing as the 13th position has a 4% chance of being in the top 4 vs a 41% chance if you have the worst record. Not sure those odds are going to change mid-season like you are suggseting.

bingo lol
but yeah I am not a fan of tanking, since the team is not going to be great anyway. The true odds are obviously great if you are the worst teams to at least get a top 8 pick but that is way to variable to justify losing through bad basketball line ups and sets or worse iso all game when you have the chance to develop the youth playing the right way,

Now these are hot takes, especially number 2.

I don't have too many hot takes... Here's a couple:

1- Don has a hot week or two to start the season... lopo comes back to yell at Cy... Cy gets banned for two weeks for mocking him.
2- Walker Kessler starts at center by the end of the year.
3- We end up trading one of Vando, Lauri, Beasley for draft compensation (not flaming hot but warmish).
4- Simone scores 30 in a game this year.

1. Jazz win 9 games all year, 6 coming in the last month.
2. Vando leads the jazz in reb, Ast, Steals, and blocks the last two months
3. Beasley, Conley, and JC all get traded at the deadline
4. Markkanen wins three point contest.
5. Sexton is an Injury replacement at the allstar game.

Only one of these is a hot take. The rest are you just typing nonsense.

Just want to say none of you on here have hot takes. You guys are all super reasonable compared to the real hot takes are the twitter people. The mental gymnastics people do to justify anything and everything this franchise does is crazy lol.

Hot takes arent suppose to be things that certifiably insane/have no shot at happening. They are just predictions that are slightly spicy.

I don't have any hot takes. The team can't shoot competitively and most lineups can't defend competitively either. If there is a hot take, I guess it's that the Jazz are legitimately in play for the worst record in the WC. Houston and OKC have the ability to be better than the Jazz if they want to.

Let me take a stab at some hot takes

1 - MellotheJazzKiller will come on jazzfanz and apologize for the knicks not making a better offer for Don
2 - Homey will actually make a post that is not gleague related or former jazz men
3 - Cy will and Lopo will become fast friends and agree on Don
4 - Jazz will actually win the 1st and 2nd pick in the draft shortly after the earth will be hit by an asteroid.
5 - I will get my PTSD under control and have a normal life.
6 - Hearsky's mom will become a nun
7 - I will get banned for this post
8 - Cy will actually listen to someone else's point of view and agree to disagree
9 - one of my favorite teams will win a championship this year
10 - I completely fail at this hot takes thing
