Official Utah/Minnesota/Philadelphia Pick Watch

I really hope that these last couple wins are because they are playing trash teams but I think they may actually be figuring some stuff out. Not to the point of being a really good team but being a solid team.
The dream of them being a bottom 10 seed was always a long-shot. I think their absolute floor is losing in the play-in.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. Edwards has 0 interest in passing to Gobert. It's kind of funny to watch. It's not a huge problem because Edwards is a great scorer and you want him looking to score, but they need to balance it out with a more pass-first player in D'Lo's spot.

It's kind of heartwarming watching KAT play with Gobert. You can tell he really wants to get Gobert the ball. KAT has issues on the court, but he could definitely be a great player if he ever puts it all together and gets out of his own head.
I watched like the first play of the Memphis game (I think) and they ran an Ant/Rudy pick and roll and he hit him for an easy lob dunk and I was like "damn they figured it out". But if you watch every other pick and roll they run Ant is like bumping into Rudy at times and Rudy has no clear idea where he should go.

My worry on Ant was always mental/attitude stuff. If he figures things out it could be dangerous as Ant is bigger and should be able to deliver the ball in the right window. I think its less of Ant vs. Rudy and more Ant vs. Towns type of weirdo vibe. I need like 10-15 solid games from them with out poutiness and BS quotes before I will buy into them figuring anything out.

a 30-40 game absence from Rudy or Ant would put them in bottom 10 range.... but agree. If they make the play in and KAT/Dlo melt then we get a late lotto pick.

Yeah, Ant is weird. I feel like the quotes he says make him sound dumber than he actually is. Like he's just joking around on 80% of the stuff he says.

Want to hear a funny stat for all the Gobert hating dickheads?'

Gobert is the top ranked post player this year (according to NBA.com, he is in the 100th percentile)

He scores 1.47 points per possession in the post. He has yet to miss a shot out of the post. He gets fouled on 53% of his post-ups. He gets a shooting foul on 40% of his post-ups. He gets an And-1 on 7 percent. He scores on 87% of his post-ups.

Nobody thought Minnesota was gonna be a bottom-5 team. 95% of the board guaranteed me they’d be a top-3 seed. Their pick will be in the 10-18 range. A lot better than the late twenties everyone assumed.

He is averaging 1.6 post-ups per game and 0.4 attempts per game. Just ahead of Marcus Smart and SGA. Good for 45th in the league lmao. Nice try though. He has definitely missed a shot from the post as well. You are making a fool out of yourself.

Yes, Elizah Huge of Jazzfanz.com has better stats for post-ups than NBA.com

He qualifies for the stat. He has enough post-ups. He has been elite at posting up this year w/ the opportunities he has been given. The Gobert hating dickheads expose themselves once again.

The dirties secret in the NBA is that Rudy Gobert is unguardable when he pins his man in the restricted zone, but guards resent it because they dont want to pass to such a boring play. It's funny because since opposing teams knows his teammates dont really want to hit him in the post, they kind of allow it to happen, or dont fight it as much as they should. If I was a coach my #1 talking point would be to feed Gobert IF he gets that deep pin. Automatic feed. You dont do it, you get pulled.

The 0.4 is FGA, the 0.3 is FGM, the 1.6 is Post-Ups per game and the 46.8 is touches per game.

He qualifies for the stat with 1.6 post-ups per game. Congratulations. ****ing absolute clown.

#1 one you hating *** dope

James Wiseman is the best pick-and-roll man in the league based off of Cy’s criteria and Montrezl Harrell is the best transition scorer in the league. Riveting stuff.

Im pretty sure people have called Gobert one of the worst post players ever, so him being so highly ranked in post-ups is interesting. Sorry it's not on a billion sized sample yet you hating *** dork.

It's just a sign of what many of the smart people here have been saying for years: If used properly and given the ball in his positions of strength, Gobert can be an effective post-player.

*and James Wiseman probably is one of the best pick n roll players in the NBA. He just sucks at everything else.*

No, it has been objectively candy ***. The reason why those teams have better than expected records is because they played the Timberwolves. . .
Yes, all those teams are only outperforming their expected record because of 1 game.

Nets done sucking. Yuta has been unleashed and Simmons is getting his stuff back
Yeah but Kanye is about to step back in the huddle. Yuta was awesome last night. Plays hard and has about as high a care factor as you can have. I don’t get how guys like him slip through the cracks.
