What's new

Game Thread Nov 26, 2022 07:00PM MT: Jazz at Suns

Added to Calendar: 11-26-22

They’re eligible 30 days after trade by themselves or 60 days to be aggregated with others. Something like that. The Gobert trade happened July 1st.
Thanks man.

You know what's really crazy? I was wrong.

The Jazz got "ZERO" defensive rebounds in that span. The one stop they got was when the ball when out of bounds on the Suns and the Suns challenged it and lost. It's credited on the play-by-play as a "Jazz defensive team rebound", but it isn't actually that.
If you can't rebound, you don't win too many games. Who was the old white dude that played preseason? Have Danny phone him up.

Hardy just gave a lot of praise but said the defense at the end was not good enough and on the last play they should have fouled once the ball was out of Booker's hands. He also said it was his fault for not communicating better.
To be fair to hardy, every player on the court should have known to foul even if all the coaches left the arena before that final possession happened.

Literally the difference in the game was they had 18 offensive rebounds to our 8 and Ayton had 9 by himself.
No doubt about it. And I have seen this same factor determine our losses in multiple other games as well. We suck at defense and defensive rebounding. KO isn't good enough offensively to make up for his deficiencies on the defensive end.
Hell, we might be thanking KO if we land a top 6 pick in the draft somehow. It will be on the back of KO if that happens.

You have to get a shot off down 1 . even if they make free throws your only down a 3. that would get a middle school coach fired.

Did Hardy have a TO left at the end to communicate to his players?
I dont think you can use TO's on defense (I could be wrong though)

Sexton’s last 3 games:

16.7 PPG, 8 APG, 1 SPG, 58.1% from the field and only 4 total turnovers.
He is just getting better and better. And should continue to get better with his work ethic and as he comes back from the injury. Plus having mike around seems to be helping.

He should have called one after the made free throw.
True. But again, the players shouldn't even need coach to tell them to foul there. Everyone knew they should foul but the jazz players apparently. How could they not know after playing competitive basketball basically their entire lives?

I’ve watched a lot of professional sports and have seen coaches and players make a lot of dumb decisions regarding game management. I’m not out there playing or coaching but sometimes in the heat of the moment they might not be thinking straight. You’d think one of them would have fouled once it got down to around 10 seconds or something.
