2023 NBA Draft Megathread

I think people thought Mitchell would be a wing prospect, but he's more like a undersized big with athleticism to guard wings. He could have a John Collins type freshman to sophomore jump if he stays in school. Their coaching **** might make it more likely he goes pro though.

He's interesting. I think Miller got a bit overhyped but I'd have zero problem taking him 5-7 range. My way too early actual top 10 is:

Wemby
Scoot
Amen
Cam Whitmore
Brandon Miller
Nick Smith Jr.
Anthony Black
GG Jackson
Ausar Thompson
Keyonte George

Prolly lower on Nick Smith than many. Its just the player type I guess.

I think, at the end of the day, Ausar Thompson and GG Jackson will probably go ahead of Brandon Miller. It's not a knock on Miller per se, just that I see other guys starting to rise.

I don't know... his block numbers are so low for that player type. I might take him in the 20s but I just think those types rarely pan out. Like if you are a crazy athlete it should show up more in the hustle stats.

If the Jazz can't get a pick in the top 10, I think Jett Howard could possibly work as a saucy, 6'7" wing who can score and playmake. Ideally, the Jazz would get one of the top 8 guys, but it looks like they're too good to get there.

Another wildcard is Jarace Walker. His physical presence is undeniable, but his impact on games seems to be less than it should be and his scoring is limited to certain situations.

Every time I hear draft dudes talking about Anthony Black I just want him here even more. Eff it he is top 5 for me... and really top 5 not the pretend top 5 that has 12-15 players in it.

Wemby
Scoot
Amen
Whitmore
Black

I see some Giddey, some Lonzo, some Tyrese maybe... just think between him and Lauri it gets easier to fill out the rest of the building blocks because they have some flexibility they offer. A smart player in a smart system with a smart coach

How tall is Black and what position is he?

agree with hh about black. he's right there at about 5-7. too many positives with elite size, vision, decision making and passing - near elite athleticism. definitely plus athlete. i don't like his low release set shot, but it's not as if his shot is broken. i have no idea what to think of the thompson twins - that league they play in is straight ****. i'd rather somebody else draft them and if they become stars, i can live with that. though, what we know is they are elite athletes with excellent length - again, i'd rather somebody else take them them top 5 or 6, but at around 10, yeah, you probably don't pass that up.
