What's new

Game Thread Dec 19, 2022 05:00PM MT: Jazz at Cavaliers

He's rookie so it shouldn't be a surprise.
Even Lauri was a bit soft as a rookie in his 1st Bulls year.
But Kessler will get better don't worry of that.
Yeah, overall it's a good thing that he is so bad at a lot of things. There is a lot of room for improvement and he is already pretty good despite those things.

The Cavs offense is really simple. When the ballhandlers get a step on the perimeter, either going 1-on-1 or from a pick and roll, it's over. We don't have the personnel to rotate to Allen/Mobley when the guys guarding them have to show to contain the driver.

It all starts at the point of attack. We have the worst pick and roll defense in the league. By far.

Lauri has had enough. Taking matters into his own hands.

So what if Lauri is taking the matters of his hands?
Lauri wants to be an allstar so then he should play and score as allstar does.

But seriously said some-kind backup support would be good for Lauri
because even he needs a bit rest on the bench especially if the goal isn't play him over 40 minutes tonight

Lauri did that same in Eurobasket as well being Finland's best player every game
so this shouldn't be an issue in night like this.

Allstar voting is starting later tonight so if Lauri wants to score about 35-45 points today let him do it then.

Cavs is on a win-now mode. This is a legit team. Jazz is just trying figure things out and we have been performing better than expected.

I think you are misunderstanding. What she said was a compliment.

I think you may have have misunderstood JazzGal.

Why are we making it easier for the Cavs to contain Lauri? Hardy keeps using Vando as the screener/roller in the high pick and roll, even though he's totally useless in that role. He can't do anything with the ball if/when he gets it. Meanwhile, Markkanen is somewhere on the weak side, away from the action, being face guarded.

Just insert Lauri as the screener and see what happens.

If he is telling the truth about how much he likes it there, I wouldn't count on it. However I do think that back court could get broken up if they get exposed defensively in the playoffs. So he might be dealt away before he leaves for nothing.
He was super happy we drafted him; when he found out Denver was trading him to us he fist-pumped. I remember how pissy DM got when Shaq said he didn't have what it takes to get to the next level.
