Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

I don't see rhe Jazz paying full boat and shortening their window at the same time. I feel like the Knicks will wildly overpay and he makes a lot of sense there.
Maybe... the Knicks FO likely bought themselves some time so they might continue to hold those picks.

I'd be kinda surprised to see us try and get more competitive right now. Its Danny though so if the price is right... I just don't think there is a good price to be had on OG. He would fit anywhere.

This is what I would do with the new CBA. Make the super Max more like a bonus eligibility contract which all players are eligible regardless of contract (this maybe hard to pin down as you have 3 supermax player limit on a team for bonuses). You can get it only when you are on the All NBA team, 1st or 2nd or defensive player and that bonus portion is paid from the general NBA revenue pool - in trades the salary would only be counted against the base pay to help facilitate trades better. Also, no team can have more than three; the fourth best player just doesn't qualify - hello drama, good bye overloaded teams Then...then..here's the crazy part....to the teams that do not have a super max player their salary cap position gets raised higher to match total pooled paid to super max players divided by the teams that have no super max players. Basically they can spend more money on better players. Also, to reward teams that draft well, I would reduce the impact a players salary has on the cap if that player was drafted by the same team (the GSW exception).

The good news is I think DA has maximum poker face right now... none of us can guess what he is going to do it means front offices likely are in the dark as well. Makes it easier to get good offers as both a buyer or a seller.

Had we kept Bogi then we would have had a Beasley/Bogi conundrum and Lauri would have been forced to 4/5 rotation.

Also no way Bogi raises his value here like he has in Detroit as their #1... especially not when competing for minutes with Beasley.

Bogi for KO wasnt as bad of a trade as the current trade values might suggest.
When we traded Bojan, I had stated that this exact line of thinking would be the cope if/when Bojan gets dealt for the exact assets we would have wanted.

It will only be an okay trade if we move KO for really good value imo. There is zero reason we didn't squeeze them for their own second round pick this year or a couple other good seconds they have.

If we were sitting there with the #32 pick and KO right now... you can combine those assets and maybe sneak out a first somewhere.

Supposedly Milwaukee trying to upgrade by putting a few second round picks with Grayson Allen. If you can move Beasley for first round value I think you could likely do a three team deal with Phoenix and Milwaukee... Allen comes home to Utah, Vando to Phoenix, Crowder to Milwaukee. We Bucks throw in some second round picks... Phoenix ponies up a protected first... the seconds milwaukee sends go to utah and phoenix.

Phoenix gets a cheap rotation player and saves a **** ton of money this year. We'd have to send out one filler salary.

Allen is a similar player to Beasley imo... he just is going to get picked apart in the playoffs and that is why the Bucks shop him. I think Allen would actually be a better fit as he is a better passer. Makes 8.5M this year and next.

EXACTLY!! has that not been the story with DA and JZ so far. No one seen the Gobert or DM deals coming...Funny how Collins deals with ATL and deals with Knicks were all over the media including (bigmike) but the actually deals closed weren't.

If the Jazz go for a "win-now" move, I hope (unless it's something completely surprising) that they manage to do it on a buy-low basis. I think that means Collins is more likely than OG, but I'm more skeptical than some that Collins can really be had at a super-low price.

OG fits to some degree. Obviously, his defense would be great, and his general versatility is a huge plus. But I'm a little worried that he might get slotted into (or expect) more of an offensive load than he should be carrying. I also think his price-tag is likely to be too high.

As for Collins, if he can be had at a reasonable price, I'm more interested than I was when I first heard about the Jazz's interest. He's basically a 20/10 guy per 36 for his career, with arguably nearly as good on-off numbers as OG. I still don't trust his defense as much as some do, but I think I'm no longer in the camp that he's a minus on defense. If the Jazz feel like they can fit him in, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt (given the surprising--to me--success they've had this season at fitting the likes of Clarkson, Sexton, Beasley, and so on into a cohesive offensive team).

Ok , I’m going to say it

I don’t get the whole Woj thing , so 99% of trades are revealed by him or has his name attached to it , it’s like he takes the credit for finding all the info out , or rather GMs just ring him to tell him to put it out to the media .

He is just the middle man that answers the phone and passes information on , I mean even Cy could do that .

Maybe I’m just having a George Costanza moment
