2023 NBA Draft Megathread

14-8-1-1 for Filipowski at half-time. He's really Duke's only impressive player. Whitehead is ok-ish, but really not much NBA talent in Durham other than that.

Really think Flip deserves to be in the lotto conversation. His ceiling doesnt get enough hype.

Completely agree on this. Redraft time he will be much higher than where I think he gets drafted.

Filipowski definitely isnt a great athlete, but I think he is an underrated athlete and has some athletic potential once his body fills out.

How does he compare athletically to Kessler?

btw I was arguing with people about Kessler lack of athleticism but I have been eating some crow as the season goes on. Last night he had two dunks (one was an alley oop from THT) where his head was right at or just barely below the rim. He got up more than I thought he could.

I think he is pretty similar athletically to Larmarcus Aldridge when he first got to the spurs. Not very explosive but moves really well. Seeing some of these mocks with him in the late 20's is insane to me. The guy should be a late lottery pick. His skillset is useful for every team in this era.

filipowski is a different sort of athlete. his game and build (though not chiseled like Lauri) is more similar to markkanen - but not near the vertical athlete markkanen is. he's a good enough athlete for a 7 footer who can put it on the floor, shoot threes, has a post game, etc.

This.

EVERY team needs a big that does what he can do with a complete skill set. He might not be a top whatever number player ever, but I feel very confident he will have a great career and be a dude every team would love to have.

Current Stars age out and new ones emerge...they come from somewhere. The smart GM makes the best guess with the assets they have. The development, structure and fit always helps with tier two/tier three stars.
