2023 NBA Draft Megathread

G-league Ignite has been doing a decent job of developing its young prospects and featuring them well. Their coaching staff is pretty solid. Sidy has come a long way with his offensive feel and especially his passing. He was kind of a raw-athlete type at the start of the season. No doubt, he's going to rise up on draft boards.

There's a lot of risk in it to. Jaden Hardy was seen as a top 5 guy pre-Ignite then performed poorly and dropped out of the 1st round.

I think the players who do well in the G-League are the advanced physical profile athletes.

It’s so much easier to watch a G-League game though and pick the real ones out quickly.

Someone posted a few pages back that Brandon Miller seemed passive in a game and my first thought was “that’s college basketball”. Rarely if ever is a college game a platform to really dominate or show out. You do a lot more guessing/projecting of college guys.

Seeing Sidy do what he’s doing against that talent in those sets tells me a lot.

Sidy looks like my guy Tate in Houston... he moves better and his shot is way better. Would want to see his defense in a full game but I prolly won't watch a G League game... that's @homeytennis 's job. If he is a good defender that power wing is so valuable. I am not sure how high his meteoric rise up the draft boards will be but he's worthy of the Minny pick or moving up from the Philly pick to go get him.

I wish I invented liking Sidy and it’s going to be so annoying when we pick him and he’s the next Jazz great and Cy never lets us hear the end of it.

I’m officially co-signing my love for Sidy and admitting Cy invented liking him.
I'll take all Cy is willing to dish out on this if he becomes a Jazz great.

I think you’re going to see scouts and GM’s try to really keep workout feelings close to the vest as well.

You could love a guy mocked to go 22 when you have the 13th pick and don’t want people catching wind.

Sid plays a little heavy. I don't know how to describe it. But I don't think it matters. He explodes and moves well.

yep. the 10th leading scoring in the country averages only 21 ppg. and the only power conference player in the top 10 is Edey.

Tay Henny has another good game. I swear his coach is dumb though… get him the damn ball. I’m gonna have to move him above the pgs at this point. He’s so safe as a pick and has some significant upside.

Truly worried he goes like 7-8 at this point now….. *sad face emoji*

I think the fact that he isn't a name brand dude and isn't at a name brand school will help him reach our spot. He also won't get a tourney bump. I think I would rather take him than Cam/Black/Wallace/George/NSJ and I still think there is a case to take him over Walker (which is not real popular I'm sure).

Totally agree.

NBA Draft Room Mock

I feel like NBA Draft Room has a lot of the guys I like mocked in about the range that I expect them to go (for now). I hope they’re off on a couple of them, but if the Jazz walk away with Jordan Hawkins, GG Jackson and Biliail Coulibali - I’d be okay with that. Haven’t decided who I like most on that last pick, but Lively, Flip and Leonard Miller are all still on their board and I’m having a heated discussion about all of them.

i've cooled on walker quite a bit just the last few weeks. just doesn't do anything most games. sorta passive, struggles to create with the ball in his hands, his shooting (both from three and the FT line) is suspect, etc. not sure i'd take TH over all those guys but he's absolutely in the conversation with Cam, Black and George - I'd take him over Wallace and NSJ without batting an eye.
