Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

I feel like we could get worse by making good trades instead of bad ones though. I mean getting worse shouldnt be hard and if that was the only point then we should have traded hella dudes when we were 10-3 and all their value was booming off the charts.
Ainge ****ed this one up.

Half the guys in the NBA aren’t tradeable until mid December, I don’t think this was a realistic option

Because I'm pointing out a very obvious fact that Clarkson is going to be better than Ochai Agabji or THT and you say the BS you said man. That's arguing just to argue or you are just extremely stupid.

I just havent seen clarkson play on a tanking team yet with lesser players around him….. until tonight. It was ugly. I know you werent watching closely but he looked horrible. Not just missing shots. Not even thinking about defense. Horrible body language. He has sexton running the offense now rather than conley right?
I think ochai will likely play hard each night and not take too many shots/will be willing to move the ball.

I mean clarkson is the better player and probably makes us win more than ochai going forward, i agree with you. But watching clarkson tonight, he looked heartbroken and like he was giving up.
Only played 24 minutes of garbage ball. Ochai also played 24 minutes of garbage ball lol.

Its looking like we gonna suck regardless.

I think conley, clarkson, and gay were.

I bet when we were rolling to start the year we could have traded conley, clarkson, and gay for a protected 1st and be near dead last in the league right now.
Probably wouldnt have even had to include 3 second round oicks and taken back bad salary and got rid of young dudes with potential on cheap contracts either.

It's wild to me that we all obsess over the deadline and complain about how it makes us focus too much on twitter/NBA news, but cant fathom how it affects the actual players and how they would perform in the games that are directly next to the deadline when they know they are on the block.

I get you point and agree with you.
Tonight we were at home and minnesota had dudes involved in trade talks too and like 6 dudes out with a couple of them starters and we got absolutely destroyed.

Maybe it was just the trade deadline. Maybe we suck. I mean it isnt like we just started sucking when the trade deadline was near. We been sucking for a long long time now and just traded away half the rotation.

I think we gonna suck. We will see i guess.

Sexton was pretty awesome individually at least. 22 points on 10 shots! 5 rebounds, 5 assists. Zero turnovers.

Minnesota had 1 player in trade rumors though. It's not like their whole team was on the block like Utah. I would say it's a pretty different thing. Also the whole aspect of the FO making a trade to make your team worse on purpose is kind of demotivating.

True.
I would agree that clarkson makes us better than no clarkson. But clarkson with the team that is left now might not be much better. Losing his teammates might have a lasting effect on him and his play.

I mean i saw this post from you in the gamethread

Like the team just knows it's over. The belief they had in themselves, now it feels gone.

I tend to agree with you. Clarkson might not be the same clarkson he was prior to today. Might be the perfect tank commander.

Lauri is about the only thing slowing the tank now.

Just a weird post that i dont understand. I mean rudy trade moght have been the greatest trade of all time. Donovan trade moght have been the second best trade in jazz history.
Then you have todays trade. Just weird to use them trades to help describe this trades value.

Some folks that always complain complained about the Rudy trade… some of those same folks are complaining here… even though what we sold was the leftovers of the trade they thought we didn’t get enough for.

There is no comparison at all my man… I agree. We sold off spare parts and a guy whose contract was viewed as a slight negative… we got a **** ton of space and a pick that will land somewhere between 5-34.

You don’t need to keep explaining. He just doesn’t get it.

I get it. He is basically saying this trade is fine because we did so good on the gobert trade.

I simply disagree with that statement.

Its like saying ya the trade sucks but at least we only lost guys we should have never been able to acquire in the first place in this sucky trade.

You don’t, but if I had to rank every pick we got from any trade the Lakers pick is the most valuable and I think that if you tried to make a trade right now other teams would see it the same way.
I disagree strongly… they unprotected picks have the most value. Listened to Russillo the other day talking about how a GM evaluates trades and he said the biggest rule he followed was “what am I guaranteed in this deal”. Knowing you will for sure get a first rounder and knowing the uncertainty provides some upside would be really valuable. The floor on the Lakers pick has some uncertainty and many GMs seem to be afraid of their shadows. I’d rank all the unprotected picks above the Lakers pick. I still think it’s a solid asset though.

We were sellers in a sellers market… and there is a chance we gave away all those players (who all had some level of value) for the right to give away more second round picks than what we secured.
We didn’t give them away. Seconds mean absolutely nothing to me. The greatest thing we got from this trade was the chance to get into the 6-8 spot in the draft. It is strictly a win for me. None of the other stuff matters.

Two independent events. Us doing a good job on the Gobert trade has zero thing to do with how we are doing on this Lakers trade.
