2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Yeah it will be close... I think the Pacers and Magic are basically out of reach... Bulls are absolute garbage and look like they have completely given up and are miserable. I wouldn't bank on us passing either of those squads. They others are realistic and maybe even probably.

If I had to guess today I think we end up 9th.
I'd be content with 9.

Same. 9 is a weird spot though. Right on the edge of the highest upside dudes, but also right there to maybe grab a dude that slips or go with a more sure thing like a Cason Wallace/Grady Dick type but lower upside. Very interesting spot in this draft.

I think at 9 you could likely make a move up to 5/6 if you really have your heart set on someone.
I dont think I would. I like the guys in that range, but I dont think anyone is a surefire star.

I still think all the future picks we hold are more valuable in a trade. Just get the best possible rookies. Dont think you have to get a star in the draft.

If it's just the Wolves+Jazz pick to jump like 3 spots to 6th is that worth it?

What player would have to be available at 6 for it to be worth it? Got to think it's a certainty Scott/Wemby/Miller/Amen are gone.

I know 6th doesn't seem that far but I think right now I'd be happy with 8th or 9th... I think the Toronto and Indiana wins were must lose games if we wanted to get to 6th-ish.

I think Ainge is going to want Whitmore or Walker. I think they're going to try to make a push to get into the top 7. They can then chase Wallace or Black at the end of the lottery with the Minny pick and another pick they're willing to trade to move up a few spots. Put some combination of those guys on the floor with Lauri, Walker and Ochai, and you've basically got a Danny Ainge team.

Also stars can be found outside of top 5. We have a good history in mid round drafting and player development.

14 of the 24 players in this years ASG were picked outside of top 5, including 9 outside of top 10.
