2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Sure, if we want to look at facts but I invented loving him and that’s how I feel.

We hashed this out like 6 posts ago
Cy can’t drive a wedge between us… Hendo came not to separate the world but bring it together.

Hendricks is amazing on paper…but when I watched film he looked a little upright and stiff. Like maybe he could win a dunk contest but can’t stay in front of his man….idk maybe that’s unfair. Clowney looks like a smoother athlete to me but there is a wide shooting gap. Could definitely be convinced he’s a lottery pick by the end of this.
He do is a bit upright. He still does good staying in front and has pretty good defensive anticipation. He kinda reminds me of RoCo on defense. I think he will be a great help defender and I think he could develop a bit more fluidity in his hips.

On offense I think the jumper is REAL good. He gets it off fast… on the move… and he does well in the roll game. He goes long stretches where his guards won’t feed him and it drives me nuts… he seems like a great kid. I just think at worst case he ends up a better/different version of RoCo… and has much more he could add to that.

Eh...Roco was one of the most impactful defenders in the league for a good while + a decent shooter and I think his floor is a lot lower than that. The guy that first came to mind was Chris Boucher for me. I think I'd still draft Dick/Brice/Jett over him, but he has a case for sure.

What do the experts think of that huge center for purdue? Does he get drafted? Is he a lottery guy? Second rounder? I havent heard anything about him

Taylor’s going to be a much better offensive player than RoCo though. His shot is wet and he gets it off a bunch of different ways. He can also string a few dribbles together and be a good roll man.

Watch him in a live game… he disappears on offense at times because he doesn’t force things but he makes great rotations to cover up the rim and holds his own on switches. He may not get as many deflections as RoCo but I think he will protect the rim a bit better and he likely doesn’t get beat as much off the dribble.

Like if people like John Collins… I think Taylor is better at all the good things you’d want from John. I have a hard time not seeing him play 25 minutes in the league because of the things he does well. Would love to see his combine measurements… hopefully he doesn’t opt out.

Miller is special. He went out yesterday, two days after dropping 41 on GG, and clearly outplayed Black and NSJ, was clearly the best player on the floor, and put a stamp on his place as a top 3 prospect.

What made it special though was how he did it - couldn’t buy a three so he attacked the basket, beat people off the bounce and despite going 1-6 from three, still finished with 24 pts on 15 shots. He’s also underrated defensively. He’s not great, but he’s good and with his length and the fact he cares on that end he can be really good.

It was just one game, but it was just more what he’s been doing all season.
It will be interesting to see who ends up with that 2nd pick because if I already have a solid young pg I'm not so sure I don't go with Miller.

Even without one, Miller might be doing enough to be top 2 when draft day comes around. Scoot is great, but if you have a dynamic wing on the board and you think he’s more Jayson Tatum than Otto Porter. . . do you pass on him? Not sure I would.

I’ve said this before, but I’d agree with you if all this came out the night of or before the draft.

The only one that has a version is you. The rest of us are looking at the facts and see where this all seems to be going. Sounds like you will be extremely butt hurt when he inevitably goes 3-5th in the draft. If he goes after that you can rename me.

Paul George?
OK genius' My "version" is the fact.
I guess yours is a confused interpretation of facts, and speculations made by bad reporters?
Prosecution testimony says they know Miller brought the gun that was used in the murder.
He has yet to be charged, because unlike Miles who admitted to knowing Davis' intentions, Miller denies knowing.

If the prosecution can prove Miller did know , with one of the other two selling him out for a lesser sentence, he will have the book thrown at him.

But lets assume all the feel good stories are true, and his clueless *** gets off on this, and is picked in the top 10.
He will by his own actions of bringing a gun to anyone, and not asking why he was asked to do so, face cut and dry
reckless endangerment charges in a Civil suit, by the victims family.
I mean especially given he is soon to be rich as F, and the family says their daughter was ambushed, based on surveillance cams that have been admitted as evidence.

I guess the Jazz lose regardless of what happens, so who really gives a **** right ?
I don't care if he rots in prison or plays for the Rockets, same damn difference.
I mean if he stays in the high lottery and isn't charged going forward -we don't get him 9 out of 10, and if he gets charged at all we won't pick him, because nobody will.

I’m warming up to NSJ - kid has unique scoring talents. He’s not a shooter at this point and that’s why he’s so inefficient, but the way he can find his shot and the wiggle he has to get those looks is tough.

At the same time I’m cooling significantly on Jarace Walker - he’s been so bad/non-existent lately for Houston.

Injuries/medicals are a big factor for Smith Jr. However, I'm still not convinced he's going to make it as a lead guard. Still has a solid floor as a 6th man type though, imo.

Jarace should be better in the NBA than college, but he needs a team that knows how to utilize his unique strengths. He's got gravity and triple-threat potential from the high post and in. He's not a traditional floor space or driver, imo.

Also when I watch college basketball I’m shocked anyone that isn’t a post brute finishes well at the rim. It’s just such a clogged damn toilet.

Wouldn’t take him in the lotto but post lotto early 20s he’s a nice prospect.

Alabama spaces the floor better than any other college team I've watched this year. Not saying Brandon Miller isn't smooth and skilled, but I almost never see him have to beat more than one defender.

I want to see Hendricks handle the ball. He's always so static on offense when I watch him.

I could see the Jazz drafting Hendricks. The Jeff Green archetype is so valuable that even someone as lazy as Jeff Green makes it work.

I don’t care much for the Jeff Green comp. He handles it well in short rolls… makes decent reads… he gets the ball about half as much as I’d like.

This is where your entire argument goes to ****. 1. It’s been over a month. If this Miles or whoever had evidence Miller is involved, why haven’t they given Miller up for a reduced sentence? Prosecution needs more than someone’s word that Miles was involved or knew what was going on. At this point it’s looking like he’s in the clear regardless if he’s innocent or not. If he’s guilty I hope he pays believe me, but you’re just ready to ruin his life regardless you know as much as me. I still say he goes no later than 5-6 if the status quo stays as is.

Self reporting you don't watch Brandon Miller.

Dude gets face guarded all the time. Good college spacing is great, but the best spaced college team is still like playing on the worst spaced NBA team. Bigs still sit in the lane 24/7 in college
