Sam Vecenie just raves about this dude's work ethic and his sister plays in the WNBA. Dude has basketball running through his genes.

I like how this highlight shows one total jump shot.

Unfortunately I suffered through 2 complete games of his and I honestly dont know if he's in the league in 5-6 years. Pin this post if you want to but I dont know if I even have him in my first round right now.

This the kind of thing that gets me excited about Podz. Dude is just very skilled. Combine that with the 3pt shot, positional size/length (if you view him as a PG), playmaking ability, and rebounding I think he is a pretty clear candidate for mid-major sleeper.

I need to watch ole boy instead of making Juggalo jokes about him. I know he fills up a stat sheet but I've watched maybe 52 secs of highlights on him.

New Vecenie mock dropped today!

Black at 7
Walker at 8
Hendricks at 9
Wallace at 10
Dick at 11
Hawkins at 12
JHS at 13
Lively at 14
George at 15
NSJ at 16
Miller at 17
Filipowski at 18

GG at 26
Sidy at 31
Oh man if we could get Hendo, Hawkins, and GG then there could be no better draft for who I want. Those are my 3 favorites and all might be there at our picks if this mock is close to accurate

The thing that just keeps me out on GG is that his mindset is Carmello Anthony. He really has to get to a good coach and be willing to be coached. When you choose to play at South Carolina over UNC that doesnt give me great hope for your mindset of wanting to be coached.

Forever scarred from long, premier athletes that suck at basketball from Exum. I know Exum had other problems like being a coward but I see these dudes every year, and every year people buzz about them, and then they never do anything. Cuz it turns out you have to be good at basketball, after all.

At some point he is intriguing enough to buy into and bet on Hardy. In the 20s cool... in the teens pass. I could see him ending up in the second round on a short leash and having to go the Wood/Whiteside route.

Yeah... after seeing that video (and to clarify, I am casual+ as a follower of prospects, so I have not seen almost any realtime game footage of anyone) I am firmly out on teens but would gladly take him at 27 as a flier.

I am just starting to dive into the draft prospects and the two players Anthony Black's game reminded me of were Kyle Anderson and Joe Ingles in that he is a connector on offense and a good defender with active hands. But I think he will be an upgraded version of those players (better athlete, better passer, better foul drawing, etc.). Although he will not be the shooter Ingles has become, I expect he will be better than Slow Mo and overall a reasonable threat.

I think Black's drive game will be similar to Ingles/Anderson in that it is based on straight line drives and change of pace (with very little wiggle) and he will do it with a pass-first mentality on the drive. That being said, he is a much more physical driver than either of those two comps and I think he will draw a lot of fouls on drives. Honestly, I think he has Jimmy Butler foul drawing potential (which is probably overly optimistic).

My favorite part of Black's game is his ability to pass for layups/dunks. He showed this from the midrange, from outside the arch, from under the basket, in transition, literally everywhere on the court. I think this is a much harder skill to learn than just passing from the paint to 3 pt shooters (he also showed that ability). That skill would be really valuable for this version of the Jazz because the current core players (Lauri, Kessler, maybe Oachi) are all play finishers but not creators. So having a floor general that can make passes puts them on another level.

Overall, Black is my favorite guard prospect for the Jazz in the 7-10 range. IMO he has all star potential (think prime Kyle Lowry) and he is very likely at least a good starter (think Fultz this year).
This is the most laughable thing I have ever read on here and the fact kcgar thumbs up the post guarantees its trash. Ingles elite shooter Black terrible form and is looking afraid like Ben in the tournament.
Slomo is Fn 6'9 with a above 7' wingspan and is slow as **** hence the name. Black if anything has that athletic ability and decent speed but lacks handles worthy of suggesting he can make up for his shooting woes by attacking the defense off the dribble - he is arguably the most overrated prospect in this draft and not because he can't shoot but because he is given the high bbiq label despite not being smart enough to add a mid range pull or a corner 3 to his resume in the past 10 ****ing years of development.
We draft this guy and the front office must have eaten some dummy dum dum ding dongs before they sent in the selection.

After working with my teenage son and his attitude problems.. I would probably find a better use for the 27th pick, but that is where I would get it. I'd be doing a deep dive on the people around him if I was seriously considering him. If you can see immaturity and attitude issues... what else is there that you don't see.

Yeah...when you look through his history the offense is....not promising at all. I think he will be a terrific defender, but he might be in the Stanley Johnson mold where he can't get on the court because his offense is so bad.

Interestingly enough, all 3 French wings played in the same tournament for France this summer. Sidy (listed as a PG btw) was the most productive, and right now I think he is the best player. Rupert played more than Bilal, but same kinda story with his offense going 3/20 on three's. Bilal played the least and just looking at the numbers was likely abusing his athleticism and size to dunk a lot shooting 20/26 on two pointers lol.

I like Bilal a lot. He has the frame and athleticism that Rupert has, but he's shown more promise on offense as he's dominated the French U21 league. He's playing with the senior team now with Wemby and basically not shooting at all, but his rebounds/steals/blocks are still there. Even though he was behind the other two I think he will have the most accelerated development. He's really improved a lot this year.
