TBD. I think he opts in and the jazz want to continue to see how he progresses next season. He does seem to fit well on the team and teammates like playing with a guy that is willing passer. He's still pretty young, younger than Ochai, despite how he looks. I want to see how he continues to develop. There are intriguing parts of his game, you just want to see the positives outweigh the negatives consistently.
Got a chuckle out of that. Physically THT looks like he belongs more in the old man's rec league than the NBA. Good for him putting up some numbers here at the end of the season though.

I think he still opts into his option. He probably hasn't raised his value to the point of turning down a guaranteed $10 mil (or whatever it is he's owed for next year).
At least now his expiring could potentially be added as filler in a trade without it being considered a huge negative value. If Ainge ends up drafting a big guard such as Wallace or Black I would wonder how much of a role THT would have moving forward. With THT on the roster for another season it wouldn't force their hand to draft one of those guards esp if a higher or equally rated big wing player is available on the board.

Yep. Which seems a bit unfair because those free throws do go up on the scoreboard. I want jazz players to get to the line a lot. I see that as a positive.
Yeah, very strange to see that as a bad thing. Incredibly strange, actually. And the whole “_ points on _ shots” has always counted free throws. Always.

I am leaning towards he opts out ,despite it being 11 million as an opt in.
The reasoning or way he opts in imo, is if he is guaranteed a starting job. I think he has raised his value to at least make that same 11 million amount anywhere he goes, and would prefer a team with more opportunities for him than we will probably have next season.
Granted we could move Sexton, JC etc, making more of a path way for him, but when they are not in street clothes, I don't care how impressive THT has been lately, his value will only go down with less playing time. Him looking to get a good paycheck beyond next season, will be less than any deal he might be able to negotiate in a s/t situation this summer.
I actually think Portland is a great landing spot for him in a s/t if he doesn't just opt out and sign a similar scale deal in his hometown of Chicago.

The point being he's horribly inefficient offensively and not good defensively. Yes, he's making progress but the long-term viability of him as an NBA rotation player is still a question mark for me.
Getting 10 fts in a game is a more positive indicator then him having a bad shooting night tho. He's
