At this point he is becoming a for sure opt out. This should be interesting to see how much we value him and how much he values us. It sucks that he is unrestricted so we can't just let it play out and match. It seems like the pacers and possibly the rockets are the 2 teams that may come after him.

Not much cap space available this off-season to throw contacts at him, but the Houstons and SAS don't have much else to throw money at.

Super happy for him with how he's played. Would be fine with hitting on a $45M/4 contact, but I'm always nervous of players that play below their contract and then have a big end of their contract year. IDK. Crazy he's still only 22.

I think he will get more than that. I really wouldn’t be surprised to see a team like Indiana throw a 4/60M offer at him.

The last time THT played himself into a raise, he got worse and knee-capped the Lakers.

I would be extremely wary of signing him long term unless it’s roughly what he’s getting paid now. I just don’t trust him. We have yet to see him perform in a winning context where he isn’t dominating the ball in the most aggressive tank-off in franchise history.

Yeah, $45M/4 was more the range that I'd feel comfortable with rn.

It's not often that there is a very attainable 22 year old with high upside available for that bottom feeders with space. Definitely a tempting thought. I'm just too worried he play like talentless Horton Tucker again, but maybe I'm too much a skeptic

Ultimately they were able to trade him for Pat Bev and then trade Pat Bev for Bamba so his salary was an asset. I’m not a huge fan of him either but having solid young players on reasonable deals helps a lot with trades.
