2023 NBA Draft Megathread

That **** wild. Would be thrilled if Whitmore is on the board at 9/10/11, but... he's not going to be? He's not going to be there at 12. Just isn't.

Did he do this **** 20 minutes before a deadline or something? I have an extremely tough time seeing DA pass on Cam Whitmore who is a prototype of everything he covets (especially with how many ****ing guards the Jazz have and no wings worth a ****). Of all the people projected in the 1st, I would have to actively try to find talent less appealing to DA than Flip and ****ing Sensabaugh (I think he's a straight-up bust; he will struggle to crack an NBA rotation unless the team sucks).

I'm gonna cling to the Whitmore disrespect and hope he's there at 9. I've settled in that he's the 4th best prospect since he has serious upside, no glaring weaknesses, and nearly the youngest player in the entire draft. Villanova played at a snail's pace and he was coming off injury. I would seriously consider trading up for him specifically.
I'm fine with Sensabaugh at 27 or whatever but if the board broke that way and we came away with Wallace and Flip... GTFOH... might have finessed your way to Cam/Hendo and Wallace if you were bright.

Its a weird mock... nick smith before Cam Whitmore... nah. If the board looked like this and we had the 9th and 13th picks... I'd go Cam or Hendo and wait on guard.

No Bufkin in his top 40 but Clingan getting top 20 treatment. Bruh. He's a basic B. Over-reacting to nonsense.
He has Whitmore before NSJ on his big board. It's a mock draft, they arent real. They are just people having fun trying to do team need stuff.
Clingan playing like 12 minutes a game in college... He's a Tony Bradley per minute star. I hope someone takes him in the 20s and pushes a better prospect down to us.
Nah, Clingan is very good.

He's flat wrong, but if the draft generally broke that way, I trust the Jazz.

But hell, I don't know. Maybe the Jazz draft JHS, NSJ, and Sensabaugh and I die.

Would you consider trading Walker Kessler if the Jazz got Wemby?

Let's say the Jazz get the 1st overall pick and Dallas moves up to 4th. Trade Walker, Sexton, and the Wolves pick for 4 and get Amen Thompson.
I would consider trading Kessler if we get Wemby. I probably would have a different favorite at no. 4.

Clingan is actually good. UConn was just stacked this year with talent.
He's fine... he's not a first round guy. Those are the same things folks said about Tony Bradley (not that they are comparable). He might be worth a pick in the 20s next year if he proves it over starter minutes.

No. Walker Kessler still has star potential written all over him, and the fact that Wembanyama had already shown he can adapt to an outside role makes it easier to use him in a similar way to KO. I’d much rather have both of them on rookie deals and find upgrades somewhere else.

Plus, I’m not sold on Amen at all, and would be happy with whatever guard the Jazz want to take with the Wolves pick, or even trade up if there’s a target they really like. Sexton, the Philly pick and the Lakers pick are about all I’d be willing to put out there though.

Its for fun but you can do fun better than this. Specifically with Flip in the lotto... we have two positions where we are solid and Flip may very well not work with those two dudes.... and he has us reaching for him. I think there are a legit 10+ guys I'd rather have than Flip.

I think KOC is a basic B now.

Danny Ainge drafted KO at 13 one season. It's not that crazy of a reach.

Are the twins identical twins? Like can you tell them apart? Looks like they are the same height and weight.

And he prolly wishes everyday he would have drafted Giannis. Flip in the top 20 is a reach. Especially if you are stocked with Lauri, Walker long term and KO short term.

Just saying if the board broke that way and we came away with Wallace and Flip… I’d be pissed.

I'd rather bring back Trey Lyles before drafting Flip in the teens (not a bad comparison btw). I don't even hate Flip that much, but there are some good wings/guards we can get with the MIN pick.

If you want the bottom end of outcomes for Flip, sure.
