But that’s inconsequential to the Jazz right?
Definitely not. It has everything to do with us. We play the Lakers and where the Timberwolves land in the play-in game will dictate where our pick is after it’s all said and done.

So I was told by someone here where the Twolves finished at the end of the season is where the lottery odds are locked in.. the play-in results doesn’t make a difference.Definitely not. The play-in result makes a difference IF THEY MAKE THE PLAYOFFS. If they don't get through the play-in then it reverts back to regular season as the basis for pick order. So I was told by someone here where the Twolves finished at the end of the season is where the lottery odds are locked in.. the play-in results doesn’t make a difference.
Ok that’s the clearest explanation I’ve had.. thanks..The play-in result makes a difference IF THEY MAKE THE PLAYOFFS. If they don't get through the play-in then it reverts back to regular season as the basis for pick order.
Wolves pick could swing between like 13 and 17 depending on how things play out tomorrow and in the subsequent play-in.
fair enough, so what happens to all the other teams resting starters this week? I guess the Commish can fine everyone and call it a day. You cannot hand down anythiung substantial to the Mavs without doing the same to everyone else, not in all fairness. It is not like those MF were winning with that pairing anyway. Resting them might have increased their odds to win smhCuban has been fined for this before, my opinion is that this should be very harsh
Here is the scenarios for tomorrow:
NOP win + LAL win
MIN hosts OKC in 9/10 play-in game
MIN win + LAL win
LAL hosts MIN in 7/8 play-in game
MIN win + LAL loss
MIN hosts LAL in 7/8 play-in game

No I was told the result of the play in is inconsequential.. nevemind Numerica cleared it up.So you think the pick would be the same whether the twolves make the actual playoffs or dont make the playoffs? Of course the play in matters for our pick.
Who should I be cheering for here guys?
Are the other teams going on record to say their tanking? Will the other teams have to give up their draft pick if they don't tank? Hard to say a team is tanking vs injury management if they don't explicitly say they are tanking. I think it would be funny if the NBA awarded the Knicks their pick. Even better, since the Jazz did the NBA a big favor by making the Lakers better with a sweetheart trade, if their Wolves pick ends up in the lottery, they magically draw that ball into the top 3, effectively bumping the Mavs pick out of the top 10.fair enough, so what happens to all the other teams resting starters this week? We want option number 1, right?
