Black and Bailey are two totally different players. You could probably find more differences than similar ones between them.

Pretty much feel the exact same way. This is a draft where it is hard to fall in love with most prospects but there is so much upside on all of these guys if things click. It has me second guessing myself on almost everyone outside of Wemby and Brandon Miller.

I go Hawkins and Wallace
Their strengths and weaknesses are similar and so is the role I project them in the NBA. Both are athletic defense first guards. Offensively, their best traits are clearly their ability to attack the basket. . Both have questions about their jump shot and how well they can create offense. Neither is super confident in their 3 ball. Bailey is more confident scoring in the mid range, but Black is ahead as a passer and get to the line better. Black's advantages here are definitely more relevant going forward. The mid range game is not something I see Bailey using much in the NBA.
In the NBA I don't expect either to be a high usage guard who carries the offense. They are more connector types...think Delon Wright, Terrance Mann etc. Black is definitely a better prospect, but they are of a similar mold. I good outcome for Bailey is probably similar to a mediocre outcome for Black. Maybe Bailey tries to be that guy (he would likely fail) and live up to his former HS reputation, but I think he should scale down into a smaller usage offense in the NBA.
Even if you just look at raw numbers, hard time seeing why these two are drastically different players:
I have similar evaluations.
I think Hawkins is the best shooter in the draft and his motion shooting gives him more upside potential. Maybe Dick shows more than he did at Kansas and can do some of the same things, but if I'm being honest I think Dick is getting the white guy boost with his shooting performance. It was really good at Kansas, but doesn't standout among other great shooters in this draft. Hawkins is the guy who truly stood out IMO. I think he can be Buddy Hield. OTOH, I think the rest of Dick's game has been a little underappreciated. He has more ways to help his team and this ultimately makes him the better prospect.
I've been calling Wallace the more boring but better version of Anthony Black, and while it was mostly a joke I think it might be mostly true as well. Honestly, it's kind of a toss up but I think it's just a lot easier to see Wallace be a contributor on offense. He's solid in all aspects and might have really been sandbagged by his injury.
One thing I would add, however, is to be careful with NCAA tourney overreactions. Hawkins and Wallace had really good showings, Black Dick left a lot to be desired. While these games matter, they shouldn't matter much more (if it all) compared to any of the other games.
It sucks that we didn't get a chance to see Black play on a team with some spacing. With more room to operate based on his current strengths you would expect him to really thrive as a playmaker and attacking the basket. I didn't watch a ton of Arkansas games but in the ones I watched it seemed like the paint was always clogged and he isn't a good enough outside shooter to make teams pay for that.
At #9, I think the Jazz would be looking at Gradey Dick. Taylor Hendricks probably goes in the top 8, Cason's going to measure out small, and Anthony Black isn't a convincing shooter.
At #16, the Jazz would be looking at Keyonte George, JHS, Brice Sensabaugh, Rayan Rupert and Sidy Cissoko. Wallace, Black, Hawkins and GG are probably gone.
Jazz can be aggressive in pursuing trades, but they need to find a willing partner.

Alright, who do you realistically want to get with this new, ****** Timberwolves pick? Assume Wemby, Scoot, Miller, Thompsons, Whitmore, Walker, Hendricks, Wallace, Dick, and Black are off the board.
I'm going Bufkin (assuming the Jazz didn't grab another guard with their pick). Keyonte George would also be tempting there. I also cannot be entirely talked out of taking a flier on GG with all of the above off the board. I also like Hawkins but his game is rather unidimensional.

So has anyone here mentioned Maxwell Lewis? I’m scratching my head as to why he couldn’t go higher.
