2023 NBA Draft Megathread

He definitely needs to go to a team that is willing to let him get reps in as a primary type of handler and not just stick him in the corner.

Yeah....there is high potential for him to get caught in the dilemna where he's not great with the ball, but also not great off the ball. Whoever drafts him is going to have to push through some warts and let him develop. If he never has the ball, he's basically just a defensive wing who can't shoot. I think what Hardy has done with THT and Sexton, different players but not exactly "PGs", is a good sign. Anyone and everyone that for Hardy (Lauri and Kessler help a lot too) plays at PG does well.

I think the boards are more set in position because the opinions on the individual players are fairly set....Bilal would be an exception because there is so little to go off of and so much more to see going forward. Made up numbers, but a team might be 90% done with their evaluation on a college player but only 50% done on Bilal. Bilal can move more than others in that situation (up or down).

I'm super high on him, I get it. I have seen enough to take him at 9 if things stay the way they are. But if things stay the way they are he's likely going to be there at 16 because not everyone is irrationally high on him. I do think a few of the teams in between 9 and 16 are exactly the type of team to pull the trigger on Bilal, however.
Thats fine. I just think based on history that I highly doubt he is gone at 16 and again... based on history that Ainge will not reach for him. If we take him it will be with the #16 pick. And that's all I have to say about that.

Dunn
Bilal
Lauri
Taylor Hendricks
Kessler

Wow defense and 4 players who can hit from three.

Or athleticism, 5 out and more scoring punch.

Bilal
Ochai
Lauri
Hendricks
Damon Jones

And if I am allowed to dream about getting Sensabaugh. The Ferrari offense with a dash of defense.

Bilal
Ochai
Sensabaugh
Hendricks
Lauri

I'm sure GMs will try and get these prospects playing in other leagues in for workouts against more known quantities. It will be interesting which guys rise and fall based on workouts. Kinda lame we won't know who the Jazz are bringing in together. Based on our 3 picks we probably bring in a lot of guys.
Those are dangerous though... I am not sure they will get the guys to go 1 on 1 but the Kings famously took Tyreke Evans over Steph in part because Evans destroyed him in a 1 on 1 workout...

I would want to see it though if I was a GM.

You could argue that Brown was a reach. At minimum it was a spicy pick at #3. If he’s the guy Ainge likes, Ainge will do anything he can to take him.

I feel like TOR, OKC, and ORL are all the types who would be super high on him and all 3 are in between 9 and 16. Just takes one to bite.

Tyreke should have been great. Maybe one of those dudes who would have been GOATED if he went to a better franchise.

These can go any direction. Gobert got whooped by Steven Adams in workouts, leading to his drop. But he whooped Dieng in the Jazz workout and the rest is history.

I don’t know if it’s good or bad practice to weigh a workout so heavily…but damn I would love to see Bilal and the Twins in the same workout.

And Mitchell killing Hart is said to be a reason why we jumped on him.

I don't think Brown was a huge reach though.. I think it was pretty much Brown or Murray (who I think had a monster workout there).

If he sees Bilal that way... then I could see it I guess. I just don't see him viewing Bilal that way. I doubt there is anyone as high on Bilal as you are though... so that is the real issue here. Follow your heart. I am more in the camp of wanting someone in the 10-15 range to take him hopefully sending someone else down our way that I like better.

that guy is one of the dumbest people ever and will pound his chest at even being slightly right about something. He's a step up from Monty but also a step down because Monty is a parody account in my mind and as a parody... he's hilarious.
He’s just an “influencer” with absolutely garbage takes. If anything, his position here reinforces my distaste for those players.

Didn’t he, like, make a video right after Exum got traded where he was almost crying and vowing that the jazz would live to regret their decision? Yeah, that guy is a stunning basketball mind.

Right... as long as its one data point then great... its when its weighed too heavily. I may not be up to date... but the top guys typically haven't gone head to head in workouts recently iirc.

So its more likely player vs. fat assistant coach and a couple chairs type of workouts.

He was right though... they regret the decision... the regret the part where they didn't do it sooner.
