2023 Trade Rumors and Gossip Involving the Jazz

If Conley doesn't back rim the last shot against the Nuggets in game seven of the bubble year, all the hate would not be here. Giving up picks to get Conley was my issue because we were doing Memphis a favor by taking on his contract.

FWIW, the Nets seem disinclined to trade Mikal Bridges for the #3 pick (which is still likely going to be Brandon Miller, rather than Scoot).

I would take Lowry + 18 for Gay. Lowry is an expiring contract this upcoming season.

Miami will have the 3rd highest payroll in the league before re-signing Strus and Vincent if they don’t do anything.

That's too rich for the Jazz. Heat probably wouldn't do it even if the Jazz straight absorbed Lowry.

I think Nunn is a valuable piece in specific circumstances. This would be one of them. Similarly, trading Nunn to GSW for GPII and their pick.

Problem is they knew we wanted him and raked the jazz over the coals. And we didn’t have Danny at the time.

Are you serious? He makes 29.7M and they are in cap hell with guys they need to re-sign.

Interesting. Seems like a big price to pay for the Heat just to get off a single year of a contract for a player that is still helping them win important games. I would think it would have to be swapping 28 and 18 at least

The two Heat deals imo are Vic and 18 for 28 or a bigger price with Duncan… they have a short term issue but long term that Duncan deal will cause issues.

Hawks are the team with the biggest short and long term cap issues that I think we could take advantage of… gs and clips have tax issues but may opt to continue to pay it. Hawks have already shown they are willing to offload talent to avoid the tax.

We also don’t necessarily need a greater volume of draft picks this year.

So after processing the Porty rumors I think the guy to target is actually Simons. If Toronto doesn't send Pascal maybe they just make the pick. It sounds like Simons could be had at a fair price as they want a backcourt of Sharpe and Dame.

I've said I think we can get John Collins and 15 for KO and 28... If we were able to route Collins to Portland for Simons (Atlanta would not want Simons) I think it meets the roster shuffling requirements. We probably add something for Portland and maybe we can't get the pick swap. Looking at Simons though... I think that's a guy that could absolutely pop in the right situation. He is playing next to Dame for a pretty bad coach and has been efficient and productive. Put him as the lead guard with Lauri and Kessler and IDK maybe that's the next guy that has a major glow up. Maybe the better prize to target (and more realistic) is Simons.
