Sounds like Dallas might need some additional draft capital to make a deal work.
No they won’t, this is clown **** lol.

Let’s all just remember OL is an evil geniusTo be clear I’m all for making money and looking after one’s family..
I’m just not sure it’s the first thing a hardcore competitive athlete would say.
I've always been a pro-Lebron guy for reasons I don't care to litigate... but I'm pretty sick of this stuff. The retirement thing was clearly a deflection from the fact he was swept... it changed the narrative (its smart but fake) and between that and this little tidbit this is guys sending their teams a message. Lebron saying improve or I force my way out... Ky saying pay me the max... I can bring Lebron or I can team up with him elsewhere.LeBron could easily request a trade. He can leave next off-season anyways. Maybe the Lakers want to do a soft rebuild around AD.
Dallas has the contracts to make it work. We could take on 10 and a contract to save the Lakers a ton of money. They probably would love their 2027 1st back in this scenario. Maybe we trade 28 + 2027 Lakers 1st for 10 + 17 + Bertans?
I don’t think it happens but it’s the off-season so it’s fine to talk about.
Clarification... I don't think its a bad outcome more a median/average outcome that I think most would think is meh. Its just a more limited player than I would want especially since we have Kessler. Maybe Okongwu without the bad injury luck is a different player than he is now. I think its an outcome where you'd just want more.
For what its worth at summer league there were some low level Hawks FO people sitting with me and they were very chatty. I think the organization is still really high on Okongwu. Take that for what it is as the chattiest guy was real "meh" on Griffin and he had a decent rookie year.
Bufkin's shooting might be the best out of this whole group of guards projected around our spot... He's intriguing... my worry with him is - is he just a sixth man type?
I've been excited about the prospect of getting Bilal in the building as a developmental piece. So would be happy if we ended up with him. But a lot of this in the past few days feels like a guy who is actually playing right now so he's getting a huge bump. How many of these college dudes could help their stock a ton if they were playing in big games right now?
Taking him at 9 would really feel like getting swept up in the hype. 16 might be too late, but if they really want him they should find a way to maneuver a bit.
It means he looked at stats and probably watched a game.
I like his analysis. It's pure first impression and number based. Take it for what it is.
Pretty much still in love with getting both Wallace and Hendricks. It still looks entirely possible to me, would probably just require trading up with Dallas. If achieving that outcome just requires using some spare cap space this year and a little next year (and sufficient luck, of course) then I am in.
I like Plan A, but I think the Jazz should be even more aggressive than that. This year and ‘27 are both great years for the Jazz in terms of assets. Now would be a great draft to use some. Protect what you can, and then go get the players you want the most.My current thinking: Plan A = trade up to #5 to nab Whitmore if the price were right (no more than one unprotected pick to swap 5 for 9). Then take Bufkin/JHS/George at 16, then a flier on high upside / high risk at 28 (Rupert, Maxwell Lewis, maybe even GG if he's still there).
Plan B = Assuming Ausar or Black are available at pick 9, take 'em. Then take Whitehead at 16 (assuming medicals check out as "good enough"). Then take a solid 3D prospect at 28 like Colby Jones, Cissoko, or O-Max Prosper.

I’d LOVE to see the Jazz move up for Cam Whitmore and then follow that up by moving up from both 16 and 28 to get two other high upside players that aren’t projected to last that far. Quality and quantity.
I'm starting to think Cam Whitmore will go at #4 or #5, and the Jazz won't have a chance to get him. Then the question will be whether it's worth still trading up to #6 for Jarace Walker, or if the Jazz are better off staying at #9. It obviously depends on how high the Jazz are on Walker.
Ehh, I think you use him all over. Really experiment. You can play him at the 5 in small ball lineups with Lauri. You can play him at the 4 next to WK. You can play him with KO. You can play him with a bunch of guards. Just try things with him until you figure out what he actually is.I think if you draft Jarace Walker, the plan should be to play him in a role like Al Horford. He's a face-up big who plays out on the floor, moves the ball and makes enough of his shots. Another example might be Markieff Morris.
If we traded up to 6 and got Jarace instead of a Thompson twin or Cam I would lose it lmao.
part of the reason his team was so bad, is that he was so bad. like he was one of the reasons they were bad. 41% FGs and 25% from three in WCC play. negative assist/to. WCC. WCC, not big ten or SEC. TS% was below the Elfrid Payton line - at pepperdine in the WCC. and he wasn't a freshman. dude just sucked. One of the reasons I have kind of kept Maxwell Lewis at bay was because of how bad his team was. I dont think that was really fair though, as it wouldnt have really mattered how good he was, Pepperdine was just flat out bad.
