Gordon Hayward credited his lateral quickness to being a top HS tennis recruit.Jamal’s dad is something else entirely lol. We don’t know every kids back story but I think when they are good we generally hear about it… could be wrong. Donovan played baseball… we heard all about it… Love did too… I think the benefits are multifaceted but if you want to dismiss it I’m fine with that too.
It’s corny and cheesy I get it but there are just some dudes that are built for competition… I have no doubt Cason is built for it too… it’s really a confluence of things that led me back to Black. I think the percentages and analytics are all great but sometimes we ignore this type of stuff where it’s like how much fight does this kid have.
This **** matters. Certain sports train certain movement patterns to a higher degree. Yes, you can train those things for basketball, but you arent going to have the same level of intent. Like the tennis example, the entire sport revolves around your ability to move laterally. You can train for that in basketball, but no basketball player is putting the same focus into their lateral movement as a tennis player. It's just common sense.
