Reverse Pet Peeves

Glad you are having fun! I love that your dad is ziplining.

Sorry about the layoff. That always sucks.
Thanks!

He loved it. It was 7 lines, progressively getting bigger. The last one was over a half mile long, 250 feet above a waterfall. The group we were in really got into it for my dad, cheering him on. At each one they clipped you in and you had to run or walk down a ramp or a few steps to get into the air. My dad is a bit unsteady so he held the guides hand and took careful steps until he was at the edge, then just jumped off.

Overall it's been a great trip. The Polynesian cultural center was a lot of fun, and a great buffet luau at the end followed by their Broadway-level show, Ha: the breath of life.

Pearl harbor was also on the agenda and that was powerful for me and my parents both. We were on the battleship Missouri standing where the Japanese signed the surrender papers and my mom and dad told the tour group about hearing the news about the pearl harbor attack and later hearing about the end of the war in the news when they were both kids. I learned my dad had an uncle that was serving on the Missouri during all that and was on the boat in Tokyo harbor when the surender was signed. His other uncle had died as a POW in the Pacific, they were brothers. It was pretty emotional for my dad and mom and then for all of us. You could tell for the younger folks there that hearing from someone who was alive at that time it was very impactful.

We were on Oahu for the first 6 days and on the big island for 4 days and we fly home tomorrow. It's been a great trip with my parents, especially considering I'm sure there aren't very many more trips like this left for them.

We've always gotten along very well with my parents as a couple, and really my dad is my best friend. We've taken them on many family vacations and the 4 of us have gone on a few trips like this as well, and it's hard to accept we don't have many more like this left.

But this one was a lot of fun, exactly what we wanted in a Hawaiian vacation. Got to see all the main things my mom and dad wanted to see and my wife and I as well, including the Dole plantation on Oahu and today we are going on a driving tour of volcano national park to cap it all off.

Then, in other good news, I have a third interview for a job scheduled for Tuesday, on site. And I'm very hopeful it will come through, as I've already interviewed with the primary hiring manager, and we clicked right off the bat. Wish me luck!

I almost never smell farts anymore. I fart a lot, im sure my wife and daughter fart a lot, im sure my co workers fart a lot. I haven't smelled a fart in a long time. I even had a big ol fart in the car last night with the windows up and didn't smell it and neither did my wife or daughter.
So thats nice.

I had to go to the Huntsman Cancer Institute today and I went up 1st S to get there. Well it was like sorority open house or something because at 3-4 of the Greek letter houses along 1st S there were easily over 100 in total of nice looking women all lined up wearing very nice outfits. When I came back down as I was leaving big groups were walking in lines possibly from one house to another or something.

Anyway... this old man enjoyed the scenic drive.

Yep. I regularly drive past the university of Redlands right where the gym is. Get some decent scenery there from time to time. Don't mind that at all.

Thanks for the call. I would have enjoyed that as well.

Hope everything is ok with your health.

My daughter may have been graced by your presence. She's a freshman and going through rush week; living on campus so we're empty nesters. Weird with both kids gone, I'm going to have to get used to it. We're excited for her and she's having a blast but I'm pretty melancholy about our kid chapter being over. Son is gonna be a junior at USU. He's actually in Uganda right now doing a service project. Weird times, just me and my new cat and dogs at home half the time.

I'm good I had to go up there for work.

It was all innocent fun. Wasn't like I slowed down and ogled anyone. It was just sort of a surprise that there were 100 something women lining the street, obviously dressed up a bit.

Making excuses for perving on my daughter. LOL.

I think there's going to be some sorority pool parties at my house, you want me to invite you over?

Morkie and Cairn Terrier. They are 11 and 12. Our Golden passed a few years ago. The cat is 8 months, our first cat . Never thought I was a cat person but he's super cool. Love how badass he is.
I was also never a cat person until my current cat (a russian blue). We got her as a kitten and she is awesome. My neighbor hates cats but we had her come over to feed our cats when we were on a cruise and she fell in love with Violet (the russian blue). The neighbor calls Violet a catdog and now is always excited to see her when she comes over. She is outside about half of the day and she acts kind of like a dog. (comes when she is called and plays fetch and goes to the bathroom outside and stuff)

That's awesome, Russian Blue's are cool. Ours is a rescue Tabby but also like a dog, super friendly and can hang out in the middle of a party. He's outside a lot but has never left the yard.

One of my current cats is a catdog. It's adorable.
