What did you guys think of Mike Smith filling in for Thurl last night?

Thurl was better in the pregame, halftime, postgame gig. Wish Thurl would take back his old role. Having Boler, Holly, and Thurl together is way too crowded. All of Ryan Smiths move with Media have been a negative. Only thing worse is his jersey color selection
 
Mike Smith is very good IMO but comes off as a bit of a homer. He knows the game and he knows the stats to the point where he just can't wait to inform you. Way more analytical than Thurl which is kind of cool but I also love Thurl's laid-back style. It would be cool if they could rotate a little. I actually like Holly with Boler and Thurl, she has grown on me. I don't think she'd work as well with Mike, he might overpower her. Even that sweet, seasoned veteran of the game Boler had to do some mid-broadcast adjusting last night with MS.
 
I think Boler has been pretty good this year calling play-by-play. Fewer slipups than the past few years. That said, I often have the game on, but on mute.
 
I lived in LA for a while and I enjoyed Smith commentary covering the Clippers. I wondered what happened to him. What charges was he accused of?

I was on the national feed last night and end up in the visitor feed a lot. Just lol when Boler doesn’t understand the rules or says weird stuff at this point.

Can't remember who or when it was (but was fairly recent), but Boler called a player by a name of someone who was an entirely different race and size and wasn't even in the game. I think he is just kind of dyslexic.
