Potential Trade Targets

He's not on the team anymore
There’s a difference between having to live with something that happened versus actively jumping in bed with someone you know has serious issues.

No bird rights, isn’t the player he was once on track to be… outside of the obvious disregard for any sort of standard for player conduct there are other reasons to pass on this guy. I’m all for second chances but with something like that you have to display years of good behavior before I will believe. This isn’t one incident… there are at least two we know about… likely tip of the iceberg.

People are so weird about this ****.

Yes, you can not like what Malone did 44 years ago and still like the Jazz. Just because you are a Jazz fan in 2024 does not mean you actively glorify Malone.

Bridges just did his **** and he's even done **** since then that says he isn't reformed or even trying all that hard. I'm not trying to "cancel" Bridges, I just don't want him on a team I like. Id rather see him fail tbh. Call me a hater IDC.

I really don't understand the people who get on the Internet to simp for Miles Bridges or try to draw some equivalency to something that happened before 75% of this forum was even born.

Basically this. I don't want him to fail at life cuz that means he causes more harm to people... I just rather him not be in the nba and find humility and truly change. I don't want to be split between rooting for my team and feeling ****** cuz we employ this POS. If we hired malone as a coach I'd feel pretty ****** too... is that consistent enough.

@Saint Cy of JFC consider yourself a hypocrite then bro. If you can push past the greatest Jazzman impregnating a 13 year old then you should separate the game from Miles Bridges personal life. It didn't bother half of these Jazzfanz when we had Malone here for 20 years keeping Utah relevant, and nearly giving us 2 titles. He was also an MVP. But oh, we don't draw the line at a chester, a CHOMO, we draw the line though at woman beaters. Apparently you can have a thing for kids, but being a batterer is where we say "no".

What in actual ****. Double standards at its finest.

Are you justifying being ok with Bridges to the Jazz because of Malone? Or what is your personal stance on this?

Personally, I didn’t hear about the Malone issues until near the end of his career and it absolutely changed my opinion of him. I don’t own anything commemorating or celebrating him and if the team decided to have him join the organization in some way I’d be as bothered by it as I am the idea of adding Bridges.

I do think it is important to recognize context. Our society is going through an awakening that simply wasn’t there in the 1980s. I’m not defending him or the Jazz, but I think that context matters. As a society we should have known better then but we absolutely know better now.
