Hayward - Do not get it...

He's no Gordan Giricek.

I'm more concerned with his lack of development of offensive instincts. Right now he looks like more of an athlete than a basketball player and the history on those guys isn't stellar.

Hayward is a second year 9th draft pick........yet people are shocked he's not a consistent 20ppg player?

Give the young boy time. It's hard to get shots with Millsap and Jefferson in the starting lineup.

The problem isn't getting shots, it is refusing to take the open shots he is getting. He to man up and start taking it to them.

I agree! He should be more aggressive! But that comes with experience. I've been encouraged by his playmaking ability, especially off the dribble. As he continues to get stronger and polish his perimeter skills I think he will begin to show the consistency we're all impatiently waiting for. I would be interested to see how he would benefit from playing in the Developmental League this year.

I am a Hayward fan and think this will be the case. minus the D League part. I do have a slight worry that he will be another CJ consistency wise.

I haven't seen so many people bailing off the Hayward ship since I watched Titanic. Well, yet you are all swimming to safety on the SS KOC fyi that boat is about to sink join me in the water. There are mermaids down here. Are you my Jolly sailor boy LOL.

Reactions: MVP
His confidence swings are frustrating, particularly last night. He is 21, and will make mistakes just like Wall, Cousins, George, and any other draft pick from 2 years ago. The Jazz are 2nd place in the conference, try focusing on the finer things in life.

Last night he was getting worked by Caron Butler. He let it sap his confidence and shutdown his whole game. No need to try and make it complicated.

The passing out when he gets to the rim is starting to get annoying. When you get that close it's either a basket or a foul 75% of the time. He's putting pressure on the rest of the team when he continually chooses not to finish.

The second shot that Hayward took in the 3rd quarter is most definitely what got him in the doghouse. He took a turnaround baseline 20 footer with a hand in his face and about 20 seconds on the shot clock. Clearly he was starting to jump start his offensive game at the expense of the rest of the team. When you pass up 1 foot lay ins and take shots like that you're just not playing smart basketball.

Despite all this I still see enough in his game to be encouraged by Hayward. It will just come in drips instead of all at once like we had hoped.

So in short, Hayward may have just one ball.
