I'd prefer the Dieng route and I think they are going to keep Giddey even though they should move on. I wonder what their cap space plan is.

My guess would be if they feel comfortable with Chet at the 4 then Hartenstein has to be a main focus for them. They also may look at Bitazde as a backup center.

The problem with Giddey is that his rookie deal is also expiring soon. Summer 25 and 26 they are lineup to have lots of cap space and that's probably where they want to make their move. Giddey will be on a pay increase by that time and I don't think they want to be the team that gives it to them. On/off court issues aside, this is just the right time to move on.

For this summer, I think they would ideally like to make a large money, 1+1 type of deal. Like Bruce Brown got. This keeps their options open for both summers. But I think they will be focused on lining up for summer 26. A two year deal signed this summer makes sense.

Maybe a John Collins level move, but I think there will be a little movement and no clear direction one way or another. Not sure DA can find his value hunter deal of the month in this market. Even the available for a reason guys could get some action with a lot of buyers. There were some reports... I think Tony... saying interest in Lavine was minimal iirc. It may have been a price thing. If I had to guess I think it would be Lavine because the Bulls finally got desperate and wanted to pay Derozan/Williams instead. My second guess would actually be Trae Young if Atlanta found his market so bad but really felt like they had to move him. Even then I think LA would outbid us but maybe they get someone higher on their list.

I think Ingram ends up with Cleveland... either Garland or Allen headed to NO.

It's difficult to name one specific player, but directional wise....every rumor has been pointed in the same direction. It may not be Lavine.....but it could be Bridges, Ingram, DJ, Trae, Herro...whoever. We also "missed" on a lot of guys in the same direction. If you believe the reporting....any of it at all....the Jazz are trying to make this kind of move. Maybe they will shift focus, but I do believe that this is what they've been trying to do and just failed.

From what I understood of the DA press conference the Jazz were going to be very active in trying to make the team better, but they didn't just want to be a little bit better they wanted to make moves to be significantly better. If they can't find the moves that make us significantly better than we will pivot.

It's not surprising that we are involved in rumors for potential trades that could make us better. Ultimately I would still expect the front office to decide that there isn't an opportunity out there to get significantly better and so they will pivot.

To Utah: Lamelo Ball, Grant Williams, Nick Richards, Lonzo Ball, #42 pick in this draft

To Charlotte: Keyonte, Kessler, Clarkson, #10, '25 Minn FRP, '27 Minn FRP

To Chicago: John Collins, #29 pick

Ainge gets his "star" plus his brother who now has a new meniscus. Apparently Jazz have been working out 2nd round guys like Bona.

Charlotte gets 3 FRP's, Key, and Kessler to build around Brandon Miller. They now have 2 picks in the top 10 of this draft. Their current young center Mark Williams has been hobbled all year with some sort of mysterious foot ailment.

The Bulls get out of Ball business and add a pro in Collins who would also be insurance in case they lose Patrick Williams.

Getting both the Balls naturally brings LaVar out of the woodwork. It's been a rough couple years for my fandom and I think bringing in LaVar would bring a little more joy for me as a fan.

Maybe but I think teams think he snaps back to his old form when he's not sharing pg duties and he doesn't come with some of the baggage the other guys do.

Yeah I was more speaking to the fact that Ainge will look for a "deal" and those are the guys I think are most likely to be below what Ainge may think should be the market price. Herro would be another candidate but dealing with Riley I am not sure we get any kind of discount that makes Ainge bite.

Bigger moves are just harder so I don't know that we will find one. I also think there are too many teams that want to buy right now. Its all on the table but yes all the smoke seems to be on the buy side... there are the reports that the JCs are available or whatever but not sure that's an indicator one way or another.

I would say it's most likely they do the same thing they have done the last two years.

I agree with this. I just don't think they will pivot hard enough the other direction for my liking.
