It’s a binary consideration, IMO. Kuminga + the house would be a passable return for Lauri. Otherwise they have nothing worthwhile to offer.

I agree. The Warriors might get desperate and pull the trigger on a godfather deal, but the target and the prize is the Hawks/Spurs ‘25 picks.

I probably value Kuminga more than most living here in the Bay Area. He made a hell of a leap last season and is still just scratching the surface. IMO, he's an immediate 20+ ppg guy for us next year, and the athletic prototype for a modern-day wing. All-NBA potential if the shooting improves.

Keyonte, Cody, and Kuminga with a tidal wave of future draft capital is a fun core to build around.

This is how you know the reporting of trade rumors is highly questionable. Most likely this gets reported as Miami, along with reportedly 20 other teams inquired about Lauri. A team can report that they picked up the phone even if the conversation was never going to go anywhere to assuage their fanbase and look like they are trying to do something.

This is modus operandi for any GM worth his weight in 4th of July Nathan's Hot Dogs. It's about driving up value on existing offers, and does make think we're looking to deal Lauri sooner rather than later if Danny-boy is indeed pushing this.

My post was suggesting that this is being pushed by the Heat, not DA. This rumor specifically does more for the Heat in PR, than it does for DA, since leaking the Heat are interested with minimal assets does nothing to push the price up for us.
