2024 NBA Free Agency Thread

Out of all the remaining free agents, the one I could see the Jazz making a play for is Fultz. Obviously DA was never a Fultz guy, but I think Hardy might like him as a taller playmaker. We all want to see Collier get those minutes and I don't think we sign anyone consequential, but Fultz would be the least surprising for me.

Maybe... but I think we have a decent amount of ball in hand guards right now. I think our cap space becomes the Lakers dumping grounds (or another team out there).

It's overwhelmingly more likely we do nothing....but Fultz would be the only one of the guards (Collier arguable) who is looking to pass more than score.

Does picking up Kennard actually work out for anyone? Get me a defensive stopper for the Kennard price.
The issue with Okoro is you have to tie up a bunch of cap space for a bunch of years. I'm not that interested, Jazz should keep their cap sheet as clean as they can until the build actually starts taking shape/starts working. I also don't know how altogether good Okoro is. Feels like if his prospects weren't shaky at being a rotation player that something would've happened by now? This happened with Sexton, but it wasn't hard to imagine a role for Sexton somewhere doing something, I struggle a little with Okoro.

With Kennard, I'm thinking essentially a one-year $20 million deal to get to the salary floor (in order to get the LT payout which has to be worth an several times that amount). Make it a two-year with a team option if that makes everyone feel better. But yes, the Grizzlies are probably just signing him.

On the point of offense v defense: having terrible defense and good offense is the best way to lose games.

Put Kennard in a bin with Josh Hart and all the other role players that would have been amazing with Don+Rudy but we were too arrogant to make changes. We're 5 years late unfortunately.

BTW, you won't find a really bad team that is good on either end of the floor. You have to be miserable on both.
