We didn't get to hear what she said before or after that 10 seconds. It's a pretty vague statement with no details of how are why or when or what.

This is one of those follow what I say not what I do things I guess.

Not hard to find. Again she is talking about insulin prices. Her thought is If pharmaceutical companies get federal funding for R&D the government gets to set prices and if the companies don't follow the her prices, she will take patents away from them.

Context of the patent:
“Finally, the patent system and certain statutory provisions that delay FDA approval of generic drugs provide pharmaceutical companies with a period of market exclusivity, when competition is legally restricted. During that time, they can maintain higher prices on a patented product than they otherwise could, which makes new drugs more profitable and thereby increases drug companies’ incentives to invest in R&D.”

The context is there and it’s still a tyrant idea. Want pharmaceutical companies to stop investing in R&D, this is the plan!

Please go watch, I know you won’t, but doesn’t change the statement at all. Not like when posters here take a line out of context. This is in context.

Kamala has established herself as a price control tyrant.

This is such a lazy post, and posts like this is why the general discussion forum is unreadable for me.

1. Don't post authorless quotes filled with stats that don't site sources. Go and find some actual reliable information that is helpful to understanding the topic.

2. I'm trying to have a discussion, not an argument. Posting this feels like a "gotcha" which promotes arguments. I'm open to learning things I didn't know before, I can even change my stance on something, but copying and pasting this just makes me feel like you are not interested in anything more than proving your point with whatever you can quickly find online.

FWIW Fish, this isn't meant to be a personal attack, I have nothing against you personally. There is no reason you should have to play by different rules than everyone else in the general discussion forum and the internet as a whole. It's just a good reminder to me, yet again, that I need to stay out of the general discussion forum.

Disagree. Contributors making substantive points in GD are in short supply. It is true that an admonishment won't change GD, but I believe that leading by example over time can make a difference. Your leaving GD would be a loss for GD, even for those who abhor your view.
