You understand there is this thing called a salary cap?
It would be more accurate to say that under the previous CBA he might’ve been worth ____. In this CBA, he isn’t.
He definitely still is, but yeah, the 12-20 million dollar contract has been squeezed a bit

Remains to be seen. There were hardly any teams with cap-space to offer a 15 million dollar deal to anyone. Plus there's a huge draft class coming in that has prevented a lot of teams looking to improve.
Detroit was one of those teams. Since they had Simone locked into restricted status, it let them offer their cap-space to Tobias Harris.
I dont think a single restricted free agent switched teams or even signed an offer sheet from a team who didnt have their RFA rights. RFA changing teams is always rare, but usually there are some competitive offers that make teams consider their action. Maybe that's the new normal or maybe it was mostly based on circumstances.
*Side Note* Also a reason why I wouldnt want to trade Kessler for a reason as stupid as to lose a few extra games. Walker is easily a guy who could be caught in that grey area of being good but not great enough for teams to pursue him in RFA, making him a great value on his 2nd contract.
A cap space team was never going above the MLE to sign Tech (except maybe Detroit). However, the MLE with full raises isn’t far off from $15 million a year.

In fact the two trades we made may end up being two of the better trades the Jazz have made since the Mitchell trade.

The trade up for Mitchell in the draft. I don’t count the trade with Cle because that was a start over type of trade.
I’m surprised you didn’t take the salary cap into consideration when you valued him at $15 million per year.
