For my HRM, I would ty to thread the needle and trade Kessler, Collins for Ingram. I would hope losing our big men would lead to a bigger fatal flaw and I would hope we could flip Ingram again (what I would aim for) or get him at a lower cost next year (yeah not likely).

Roster chaos would generate losses and Ingram sitting out and pouting would be ideal. Or him playing well and could be traded works fantastic if we still can't stop teams.


Anyway, what's a HRM you would advocate for this season?

So you want to trade for Ingram, have the team be terrible, have Ingram "pout", and then bring him back?

Makes no sense. You dont trade for a guy playing for next contract if you want to tank.

An Ingram trade made some sense if you wanted to zag and compete with other teams tanking.
 
Cy speaking truth. if you arent bringing ingram back whats the point. dump salary, lose all bigs and just suck and hope you can draft a big that can play defense like kessler?

And if he didnt, that makes this move make even less sense. So we trade for Ingram to lose games? (That doesnt make sense, hes a very good player playing for his max deal).
 
I don't think an Ingram trade is necessarily a bad idea, but this idea of doing it for "roster chaos" or doing it an attempt to win more games next year are both dumb ideas IMO.
 
my HRM is play all rookies a lot. lose a lot, pray for a great player in the 2025 draft which may go down as one of the best of all times. look out for san antonio. they are the smartest team in the league. purposely lose in years with great players. trade players for picks in years with great talent. i mean they will have 2 picks possibly 3 picks in the top 10 in the 2025 draft to pair with wemby going forward. look out.

Thanks for starting a thread to talk about something. This off season is brutal. I don't really like the idea of bringing in Ingram since we are planning on tanking. If we can use his contract to get off of Collins, then maybe it's worth it, I guess, but I don't think NOP is that desperate.

I'll think about some trade ideas and try and come up with something crazy to add.

This is a next to zero risk move.
 
For me, a high risk move would likely revolve around Sexton because there is actually a chance you look really stupid two years from now. Sending him to DET or NOP would be my preferred destination. You will likely be eating trade value, but you may also be knocking out another team from the tank race.
 
full tanking is a high risk move. you are going to upset lauri, sexton and kessler and just hope lady luck favor you and you get a high pick and that pick turns out great. then you hope you are forgiven by the vets who lost a full year why you tanked.
