What's new

For those of you BYU pukes cheering Jimmer...

That's not possible

It always amuses me how the BYU/Mormon haters come out. Doesn't bother me. I enjoyed my time at BYU. I don't want the drunk life, never will.
You can have it, doesn't offend me.
BYU is not for everyone, so I am fine if you don't want to go there.
I wish there was a lid on the Provo area. Place is getting crowded.
Whenever there's a thread ripping on Mormons, NUMERICA will be there.

Haters gonna hate.

**** any "fan" whose agenda as a fan is anything but the Utah Jazz. Period.

Edit: This applies as much to people that are here because they are more interested in an individual on the team apart regardless of how they perform on the team or the influence they have. I've made my peace here where Jimmer air-balling and boobing about phantom contact didn't.

When the ball tips, the guys in the other jerseys are not people you cheer for.

Hey stop ripping on Mormons!

Wait, wat?

I appreciate your passion, but basing your faith on the scientific veracity of sacred writings is shaky business. Thales (first Greek philosopher c. 600 BCE) believed that the prime substance was water from which everything came. He was antedated by Egyptian theogonies/cosmogonies such as the Ogdoad. In addition, philosophers such as Leucippus and Democritus then through the Epicureans belied that everything was composed of atoms (that which cannot be cut) and when we died our bodies broke up into these atoms and that nothing can be destroyed only transferred into something else. Epicurus was considered a holy man by his followers, but would you call them holy based on their deductions? It seems that science can support one's religion but doesn't have to--only when it's convenient.

That's no different from todays doctors actually believing chemotherapy cures cancer when in all actuality they are just throwing more gas on the fire...

There are educated people in every era that believed in something just to have it debunked 100 years or so later... And this generation will be no different... Believe you me...

Did that just happen?

Hmmm.....

So I guess you're saying that Hayward should never be cheered when he plays in Indiana? Andre Miller and Andrew bogut always receive cheers when they play against the Jazz. Of course, we haven't seen Bogut cheered for years now due to injuries...

It's about cheering for guys who gave it their all for their respective college teams. That amazing run that Andre Miller gave Utah was something that I'll remember all my life. Bogut was another. Jimmer too.

I'm sure both BYU and Utah will produce more NBA players. Utah is going through a tough time, but I actually think that with time this coach will get things turned around. BYU was outplayed tonight by both St. Marys and the refs. But I'm sure with time Dave Rose will produce another tournament team.

It's pretty pretty stupid to criticize fans who actually make the sacrifices to pay for tickets, parking, and get to the games for what they boo and cheer for. They paid for the ticket, let them do whatever the hell they want (as long as it's legal. No throwing crap on the floor)

Again? Does the same go for the Torah, Bible and Book of Mormon too? Because I've read them as well. Again, whatever gets you through the day, my man......it's just not for me. Being a kick *** message boarder is though, so I'mma stick with that if its all the same to you.

Sorry Bodhi... You're not so kickass when you only have 4 green lights under your handle...

Keep working on it though, you have a much smaller hill to climb then I do... Only one green light and I'm sure this thread doesn't help my status there either... LOL

All in all... We're all sinners... And I'm probably the biggest one of them all starting a thread like this... Many people have told me that I have to learn how to funnel my anger in a more positive direction but that's just one thing I haven't licked yet...

For what it's worth, I'm sorry if I offended anyone in this thread...

Did it occur to anyone that maybe many of these fans aren't Utah Jazz fans at all? And they only came to see Jimmer.
You mean they allow fans of other teams or players into a team's home arena? How dare they!
Guess that explains why I see a lot of purple and gold in the stands when that team from LA plays in the ESA.

Maybe the "true fans" in Salt Lake should do what they did here in LA in Dodger stadium. Just beat the crap out of anyone who is wearing a jersey of another team or opposing player. That will teach them.

I forgive you, my son.

Seriously, it's all good. We're fans and like they say, "fan" is derived from the same word as "fanatic." I understand how you can be bothered by someone cheering for an opposing player. For me, it really sets me off when I hear people clapping for Kobe. In Jimmer's case (or Bogut or Andre Miller), I can at least understand there's a local connection. With Kobe, Lebron, etc. there's not and it really chaps my hide.
