What's new

Takes on the 1st and 2nd-year players....and progress if there happens to be any

I haven't been around for a while, but I see people are still trying to convince themselves that Key has all the talent to be an all-star, and that his epic levels of suckage on the floor is just growing pains.

He has some fringe All Star potential. It may be unlikely that he actually gets in an ASG (see Jamal Murray and Anfernee Simons). Efficiency will determine Keyonte's overall value. However, the Jazz are a dumpster fire right now, and Keyonte gets undue pressure because he's supposed to make something out of it. No excuse for missing this many shots though.

What skills does he possess that would make him a "fringe" All Star? I mean it would be great if that were the case.
He's not shy to shoot off the dribble but he makes those shots at such a low %.

Brice looks like he's becoming a decent spot-up shooter. However, when he tries to handle and create, his lack of speed and slow dribble is getting him in trouble and leading to turnovers.
He just doesn't sell his fakes. His dribbling ability and speed is fine, he just telegraphs where he is going and doesn't read the defender

Let me put it this way:
If Key shot even at league average %, how would you feel about him?

People are holding hope that the shot starts to fall at some point because it looks good. Maybe it wont, but we all should hope it will.

I would feel great about him. Heck, despite all the negative post from me regarding Key, I still feel pretty good about him. Im a glass half full jazz homer though.

I think it's more likely he'll be playing in China in a few years than ever becoming an all-star. I'll be happy if he develops into a solid backup NBA player.

Hardy went full nuclear meltdown on Key and a couple of others. Clarkson's out at least a week so maybe Juzang and Flip can carry the load. Hardy is still probably frothing at the mouth.

I’ve been hard on Keyonte, but he does have potential in premium areas. No guarantee it materializes and it likely never will, but there are some players who couldn’t dream of doing things on the court things he could theoretically do.

With that said, there’s a reason why there are many more players like Clarkson than Garland.

Flip - My man. I see his floor being KO tier.
Taylor - I believed in him so this **** sucks now. Get well soon

Keynote : I'm not gonna say bad things but I think them quietly
Brice: When Jazz has their team together, this man has a chance becoming a good sixth man

Collier and Williams: Who knows. The other hasn't yet played NBA ball and the other seems raw as you'd expect from rookie coming off from meh draft class. Time will show.

The only guy that has convinced me fully is Flip. I love this dude.

Brice has played really well imo. I think **** hits the fan when you ask him to run a lot of PnR….but he has improved a ton defense and making shots on offense.

There are a ton of young players not having their options being picked up at the moment. Could this be the fate for some of our young guys?
I doubt it just because we're sitting pretty salary wise, worth it just to have bodies for potential trades
