Probably not and the Jazz have a bad track record of ever using it to their advantage.
Fair.

Yeah its likely the second round trash heap type of deal. I just think if you trade one pick for Kessler you can rationalize it because he is young and you can possible recycle him later if you move into a rebuild or he can be part of the post-Lebron squad. Rob consistently sucks at some of this stuff, but that would be my thought is it threads the needle between burning another pick for a completely win now option and thinking about the future/longevity. its also cheap. Not saying they will but I could see them coming to that conclusion... not even sure if Danny would dance at that price tho. Not sure I'd be all in on that type of thing.I actually think a trade for Kessler is the least likely kind of trade. Most likely would be finding some kind of change in the couch and getting someone like Val. Next likely would be them doing really well early and then pushing chips into the center of the table for one last title run. Kessler is a half measure that maybe solidifies them in the play in range. I think Windy is right, they aren't going to put picks on the table unless they're really good and those picks take them over the top. It's why nothing has been done up until this point. They haven't been serious about DJ, Grant, ect. Don't think they'd hold the line for so long and then decide Kessler is the one they need.
After more thought, I'm pretty close to just ruling out any Kessler/Lakers trade.

I think both primary Kessler destinations are both closing their doors more than opening right now.
With Sexton I think the longer Key struggles the more likely it is they keep Collin. They aren't tied to each other directly but if you are looking at Key and the inefficiency and defensive struggles and his issues as a pg... like don't you look at Collin and say some of the issues are the same except he is mega efficient scorer and maybe we find a big pg (cough Demin cough) that hides him and other similar type players going forward.I'm assuming NOP is the other one? Yeah that looks closed....I think there is slight potential there in some kind of Ingram deal. Like I'm not sure people think of Kessler as a guy who takes you to the next level, but Ingram? He was at least an all star who would likely be JJ and LeBron approved.
Best destination for Kessler (and a maybe a few of our other players) seems to be CHO if they want to try to make a push for playoffs. I don't think DA will give him up easily though, so it's unlikely we'll see a Kessler trade. Sexton? They've treated him like a ham sandwich so I wouldn't be surprised if they treat him as such in a potential trade.

Like Hardy may treat him like a ham sandwich but that doesn't mean DA won't consider him to be worth the whole value meal.
Yes NO was the other main suitor. I looked at their schedule and active roster. They will join the tank race shortly. No need to throw good money after bad unless the GM feels like he is on the hot seat. Not sure anyone in NO cares enough that it would cause a hot seat. Its truly sad watching their games and the stands are empty.
Maybe they don't see him as a backup plan but the longer he struggles the more alternative options look better. An option that works in house might have more appeal.I don’t think l they see Sexton as an alternative or backup plan for Key. If that were the case, I don’t think they neg him at every chance and bench him for guys like Clarkson and THT before. At this point I think most will have either made up their mind that Sexton is not it or are still open minded that there’s a chance he could establish himself more. Nobody has made up their mind and also believes that Sexton is a future starter. I think the Jazz are clearly in the first group.

Eh... they quickly moved on from THT. I doubt guys are that rigid and he has started every game except like one this year (which was a weird one). No doubt their opinion differs from those that are the highest on him but if he keeps producing consistently it gets harder to deny. I think it would take the Rozier package to move him or more... and I doubt they do that unless the tank starts to fail. Maybe if he starts to grumble.
Damn. That would be damn near perfect for them IMO. I’ve been thinking a PnR big that brings real rim pressure and a respectable 3-ball is the one archetype of player that will pop most next to Wemby.I could see a Sexton/Keldon swap. I think that may have actually been a legit rumor. Keldon is like the wing, crappy version of Sexton with an additional year left on his deal. I might want John Collins more than Sexton if I was the Spurs though.
